Re : Math SOL 7th Grade ( AAP 6th grader)

Hello eveyone,

How are you ? Can someone please confirm that -

1) Math SOL 7th Grade ( AAP 6th grader) is NOT timed and has NO time limit ?
2) For Algebra - I 7th grade eligibility , a student must get 46/50 answers correct in math SOL?
3) My child's school does not subscribe to SOLPass - how does one get online login to the practice tests if this FCPS school does not have login?

Thank you so much!

1) my understanding is no, it’s not timed. They have until end of day to take it, if needed. My son said it took him about an hour.
2) that’s what DS was told for pass advance
3) I don’t know anything about this question. DS brought home practice packet from school.

6th grade AAP teacher here.
1) not timed
2) no cut scores since it is computer adaptive. The scores are evaluated by question complexity and how many incorrect so there isn’t a cut score like there used to be.
3) VDOE has released tests to practice. I gave my kids practice packets.

FWIW, SOLPass tests are old, and considerably easier than the current cycle tests.

Is this true? If so, what’s the best way to prepare for the real thing? Thanks!

Didn’t your 6th grader already take it?

Ah - can you recommend other ways to prepare/test please.

Thank you!

For those that are NOT aware of VDOE practice test - below is the link. AFAIK , there is only ONE practice available there.

Can anyone who attended last years 7th grade SOL (AAP 6th grade ) Pl share any good resources for preparing? . It will be very helpful as the sol pass is outdated we don’t have any other resources for the new changes .or Pl mention if you had used any learning centers that does SOL practice or revision for it . Thanks in advance! .

OP, I'd gently suggest that algebra in 7th might not be the best course for your kid if they need to test prep for the SOL?

They'll take the IAAT in the winter. If they do great on the IAATs, then consider prepping for SOLs. If they're marginal, then let the SOL play out and see where they stand
