Aren't these the same main themes that have always been around? On paper. But what will they do to achieve goals under main themes?

These are the dumbest updates because they tell us nothing. If they want to provide an update tell us how many candidates there screened, are interviewing and when they will be shortlisting. Tell us what those themes mean to them more specifically.

These are performative updates and nothing more. And that’s why they can’t gain the community’s trust.

I thought it was terrific that they are addressing the top concerns expressed on this board.

And it's a process. This is an indication of where they are in the process of hiring. When the board arrives at the next stage, probably identifying finalists, we'll hear more.

We will never hear more or real details because MCPS does not share the candidates with the stakeholders. They use the excuse that it would narrow the choices because candidates don’t want their current districts to know of their interest. However, this creates a completely secret process with no input from the people this hire will directly affect. Many other districts invite stakeholders to meet the candidates to collect their input. Unfortunately, the final decision on superintendent will be made solely by this lame BOE.

The lack of transparency in the process is pathetic.

Or in school emergency responses.

How so? Candidates aren't going to want their names made public.

I don’t see how a permanent superintendent is hired by the end of June.

Then they don’t apply, many districts make this an open process.

Right, that's the problem.
