Any recommendations on activities? We plan to hike and visit art galleries. Maybe visit a vortex? Anything else unique?
Also, any recommendations on a hotel/resort? We are looking at Enchantment Resort. Looking for a place with a pool and relaxing vibe. Thanks! |
I love the Enchantment Resort. There is a trail right outside the property, Boynton Canyon Trail which is nice. There is a spa there too. It's a little remote so you have to drive to get anywhere else. The Pink Jeep Tours are also worth it. |
+1 to all of the above. Shopping for crystals and other woo woo treasures is another delight of Sedona. |
OP here. Thanks! Any particular Pink Jeep tour you’d recommend? We are usually not tour people, but this might be fun. Thinking about kayaks too. |
Broken Arrow is one of the more popular ones but you can pick one based on the time of day you want to go and level of thrill you're looking for. They take you into areas you can't otherwise access so it's not just a basic tour. |
Pink Jeep's broken arrow tour is the most popular and it's fun. I think they also do a tour out to some of the vortexes as well.
Another potential resort is the Wilde Resort. It's not in the congested downtown area but we really liked it. It's not as remote as Enchantment (but it's also half the price). You might also like Auberge but that is more in downtown Sedona. There's another nice resort by Tlaquepacque- Los Abrigados. |
What is the point of a "Pink Jeep" tour? |
Just a heads up, it will be SUPER crowded in October. Weekdays should be a little better than weekends.
The Enchantment is a wonderful resort and I believe the spa was just fully renovated. It is a little more removed from town and has terrible cell service, ymmv if that is a pro or con. I believe the pool is heated, but October may or may not be pool weather. Other options: L'Auberge is beautiful and within walking distance of some shops/restaurants. Ambiente is a new resort that looks amazing, it's adults only if that would work for you (we always have our kids with us). Book reservations at Elote Cafe 60 days out, it's small and books up quickly. Forty1 is the restaurant at that new resort, also very popular Check out Tlaquepaque for sure. Consider a side trip to Cottonwood and Jerome. The drive up 89A through Oak Creek Canyon (towards Flagstaff) is beautiful - or better, take the 17 north and then come back to Sedona on 89A. |
Bumping this thread - is Enchantment as good as promised? Would love to hear recent experiences. |
That's what I'd like to know and I've visited Sedona many times. I was just there again in March. You can hike to the trail where the Pink Jeeps go and it's not a hard hike at all. It's called Little Horse to Chicken Point. Oh yeah, and it's FREE. I think people just think it's something you HAVE to do when you go to Sedona. To me, it's a tourist trap. You can see so much on your own -- for free (instead of the hundreds of dollars these tours want) -- and the scenery you see on the hikes is better. |
Not OP or the bumper, but I'm following too. Thanks for all the great info here. Someone mentioned October as a bad time, what is a good time? |
The pink jeeps go on many different excursions, not just one. It's fun and the kids and adults enjoyed it. All of Sedona is an over priced tourist trap. It's not a budget vacation. People do this because they can afford it. YMMV. |
Why do you think there's only one trail you can book as a PJ tour? |
There isn't; Broken Arrow is the most popular Sedona jeep tour and it goes here. The other sedona jeep tours are not popular for a reason. |
Oh, I thought you (or another PP) said they didn't exist, "Not popular" as in "routinely sell out?" Do you have a private language or something? |
