New team etiquette

Is it ok to move over in June to your new team or is that not normal? Current and new club are both holding practice until mid June but we're done with games and tournaments before that. My son is eager to move as the new team is a high level team but we're not sure if that's what most players do or if you're expected to wait until July.

What? This is a very common thing. We've had TD tell us we could come all Spring to practices if we wanted after IDing in March. Going in June is completely fine.

Not PP, but It also becomes a numbers game. All spring long, DD's team has had almost a full team worth of outside players show up to trainings.

If you're having a huge influx that means they are actively looking to replace/add players. Depending on where your player falls on the team hierarchy that can be a good thing or a troubling thing. I'm assuming the complainer has a latter player.

Having guest players join the current training session kills the vibe of the team. There will be kids leaving and new kids coming but why not finish out the season strong with the current player on the team.

I would be very frustrated by that, as it takes away time, touches, coach attention from my own dc when we have paid a lot of money for the training.

Agreed but are these new players pretty good? Coach might need guest players and also encourage competition. If you’re frustrated, talk to the coach. And is your DC staying or leaving to another team after this season?
