Obama vacation update

After first saying the White House will not comment on the vacation and it being out of the news for a few days, it is now reported the reason she took the trip was to be with a friend whose father passed away earlier in the summer. They are friends from Chicago and are really really good friends. Such good friends, she did not attend the funeral.

Ol Barrack needs to reel her in and get her working on a cause instead of a farmers market

According to the Chicago Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet, the first lady made the trip because she wanted to spend time with her best friend, Chicago physician Anita Blanchard, who lost her father this summer. Blanchard (who is married to President Obama's best friend, Marty Nesbitt) planned a Spanish vacation with her daughter and invited the first lady and her daughters to come along. Michelle, who missed Blanchard's father's funeral in July, agreed and brought along her 9-year-old daughter, Sasha. The first couple's older daughter, Malia, is away at camp.

I have but one serious question for you (since neither this, nor any of your other rabid posts in which you attack the POTUS so personally and viciously merit any other serious response): Do you have any plans to assassinate the POTUS? Should I notify the FBI that there appears to be a very ill person attacking the President, his family, and even his dog so often and so hatefully that, as a good citizen, I have become concerned? Do we need DHS to subpoena Jeff's records to confirm that, as I suspect, we have one very disturbed individual on our hands whose obessesive ruminations about the President's family have gotten to the point of raising serious questions about his and their safety?

I'm sure OP was very diligent about Bush's vacations ... or is this just another data point confirming my suspicion that Michelle's vacations are another reason for Obama haters to continue hating him.

You know, you said that in the other thread also.. but yes, for people who don't like him already, this is indeed another affirmation of our dislike. You're absolutely right. I really don't know what you're hoping to accomplish with that statement but you keep making it lol

I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of those complaining about Obama's vacations and probably didn't care about Bush's (more "vacation" days than any Pres in history, like any modern President really ever gets vacation.)

Did you see my post where I talk about Teddy Roosevelt being a full 4-6 hours' away from contact when McKinley was dying? Amazing how things have changed.

My understanding -- he was in Buffalo (near McKinley) for a few days, then went off to vacation in Adirondacks when McKinley's health improved. And yes, it took Roosevelt nearly as long to get to a train station as did the trip across New York state.

Which makes me think, if they had more or less mobile telegraph operators during the Civil War, couldn't they have done that here? I don't know.

So wait a minute. After everyone bitches about her extravagance, jetting off to Spain with supposedly 40 friends, it turns out that she is going with her friend, at her friend's invitation, to Spain because her friend is in mourning over her father's death?

And so now we are playing "how can we turn this into something bad?".

Was her friend horrified that she could not make the funeral? Apparently not. But we are full of righteous indignation, because we have never missed a funeral before. Right?

So, PP: I take it you think we merely have a bored housewife from Chantilly on our hands? No assassination attempt is imminent? Good. I didn't feel like notifying the FBI, DHS & CIA today, anyway. So much trouble. I will, however, be keeping an eye out for further obsessive posts about the President's personal comings and goings, and I will be particularly alert to any posts in which his wife, children, or freaking dog appear to be stalked and subject to vicious personal attacks. To me, they are an omen.

So glad Jeff keeps such meticulous computer records. He is a wonderful man.
