Vegetarian1300 calories, trying to lose 10 lbs

Anonymous
What should my macros be? Struggling in figuring out right ratio.

How much do you weigh? do you really need to lose those 10 pounds?

Go fully plant based for a month (M-F plant based / Weekend Vegetarian)
You will shake things up and drop some pounds.

But it really depends on where you are starting from for how much you are going to lose.

I know my weight sounds high but I am on a beta blocker for a heart condition as well as hypothyroid. This has been my weight for 15 years. I just want to lose 10. I don't snack, 1300 is pretty easy for me actually, don't even eat that much. I exercise every day.

Vegetarian here. When I focus on fiber, I naturally lose weight. I aim for 35-50g.

Eat more vegetables and less fruit. Beans too but don't slather them in cheese/butter. And of course, no vegetarian junk food--chips, fake meats etc. Maybe step up your exercise a bit too...weight loss is making sure you are in a caloric deficit.

I never eat the fake meat, pretty much never snack, I exercise daily for 40 min, 2 to 3 mile walk too each day. Total calories per day never go beyond 1500 anyway. But nothing is budging.

DP. My guess is you’re eating way more than you think you are. Get a scale, measure and count every calorie, don’t fudge the numbers.

It sounds like your metabolism is shot. Maybe add weight lifting to increase your calorie burn?

You need to ramp up your exercise. While walking is great for health it’s really not exercise.

.

It burns calories though in a non-stressful way for the body. Ramping up steps is a better idea than doing HIIT for instance when in a caloric deficit. 2-3 miles is very little though. I would target double that. And lift weights at least 3 times a week.
