AP Tests this week, how are we feeling?

It’s AP test week! My sophomore is taking two for the first time. Do most kids study beyond the class work? When are scores released this summer?

No feelings. That is for my kids.

+1 My kid is marginally keyed up, but makes no difference to me.

Scores will be released on July 8. My kid is a senior taking five AP tests, the first one is being held right now (AP Gov.)

My freshman asked for help going through practice questions and answers from a book this weekend. I was happy to help for a while, but it was not the way I envisioned spending most of my weekend.

Couldn’t care less. My DD is taking 4 AP’s but only one test. Literally don’t care how she does. She’s heading to college in the fall so the score matters not at this point.

The family that studies together are buddies together!

Aren't you guys cool! Keep up the good work surveying DCUM non-stop and invalidating people's feelings!

I’m sorry, is this thread only for anxious helicopter parents? OP asked a question right in the title and I answered it honestly.

My junior studied a lot outside of class for them. She took 1 last year and did some tutoring for it but got a 4 so I think was motivated to take it up a notch this year. Especially because she thinks AP Chem and APUSH will be hard. She’s not as worried for AP Lang for some reason. Good luck to them! I thought good scores mattered more for admissions but now I’m not sure when/if they get submitted

Don’t take it personally. These helicopter parents strike back hard and fast. It’s in their DNA.

My kid is taking three APs and really stressed out, I do think AP scores matter as we hear about inflated grades. what is more objective than AP and SAT?

The score does matter if she wants to earn college credits based on the AP exam taken.
