College Protests — how does this all end?

Anonymous
Today at Columbia, Brown, USC, NYU, UT-Austin and other schools large protests that are turning violent. This has really picked up steam today. Speaker of the House is headed to Columbia. I have a kid at one of these schools. How does this all end?

Jesuit college is the way to go.

Why Jesuit? Protests there as well I think.

The semester is almost over. The great majority of students will leave for the summer and this the protesers will lose their captive audience. University officials will put new policies in place to tamp down these activities in the fall, including expelling some of the most active protesters.

Hopefully the summer will cool it down. It’s really so sad. And scary. Someone is going to get hurt. The Kent State reference above is correct….

Kids blowing off steam before classes end in about one month.

Something bad is going to happen. The escalation is crazy.

I am completely against property damage, spray painting windows and throwing chairs at policemen. Frankly, the footage I saw at NYU last night was reminiscent of the US Capitol storming.

They will end when there is a Kent State type tragedy.

It's a very small minority of students that are engaging in these protests. The vast majority of students want to go to class, they want to go to graduation, they want to be able to walk around campus without being harassed by people in masks and scarves that have completely lost the plot. Even at Columbia, where there are 36,000 students, it's just a few hundred delusional agitators role-playing as revolutionaries. It's the same general idiots that were lighting garbage cans on fire during BLM and Occupy Wall Street. I suspect some graduations will be messy, but it will die out soon as all TikTok trends do.
