Final transcript - when do we ever receive a copy

Anonymous
DD graduated last year and we don’t have her final transcript. I know we paid for them to send to the colleges.
But I don’t recall getting a copy ourselves, any idea? She needs it for summer job.

geez how hard is it for mcps to MAIL? McAP results. or final transcripts at the end of Q4 of a student's senior year? results/transcripts/scores/data that our kids worked hard for or didn't work hard for.

They're too busy filing their nails.

They don't just send you one by default. You need to contact the counseling office and request one.

Why dont they send by default? Make it standard practice to do so.

Ask the BoE to add it to their list.

Thanks for confirming we never received one, we were trying to look for it thinking they must have send a copy with the report card or at graduation.

Do people usually request and pay for one when they need it for internship.

Now that she has graduated, do we contact the school counselor directly or MCPS?

An internship would require an official one, which means it has to come directly from the school. If you already had one, it wouldn't be official, and so not useful for the internship.

It's not a big deal, call the school and get a copy. If it's been more than 5 years, you call central records and get then- also nbd

Some internships are ok with a sealed copy from the intern.

If the job (internship/ college / scholarship / etc) requires an official transcript, then it must be sent directly from the school. The school registrar will be able to help you.

The school does not automatically mail out unofficial transcripts as they are (as stated) unofficial and usually not helpful.

Good luck to your DD. I hope they are enjoying their post high school life. Sounds like it is very productive.

They should mail an official transcript to each student at end of Q4 senior year. If you should need more in life, you can request when needed.

That would be a waste of time, money, and paper. Requesting them when needed is fine.

Why print a diploma then? A waste of paper, time and money. Just print when a college, job or other place actually asks to see one. And those diploma covers/holders? Also waste of money.
