| Very, very long story/life but I got my first ever new pair of jeans at 47 and am wearing them today. They feel a little stiff. I hope I feel like I deserve them more soon it feels strange but good and a little exciting to me. |
| That's nice? |
That's nice! (corrected it for you so you don't accidentally seem like an a******) Congrats, OP. Out of all the styles, cuts and colors, how did you determine what you wanted? |
| Tell me more. Style, length, brand, etc etc. |
|
So if they fit you well now wash on cold and don't put them in the dryer.
What a great feeling OP - enjoy! |
That’s awesome! Congrats

| Why? |
Thank you! I actually read some posts here..I didn't want the wide boot cut ones so that made it easier to pick. |
They're not really fancy they are lee straight leg midrise jeans. So far so good! |
Thank your for the tip!!! |
Thank you!

Jeans and their many washes are garments that are very hard on the environment, particularly in terms of water pollution. I buy a lot of clothes second hand on Poshmark and I make a point of not buying new jeans. Plus, on those sites (or thrift stores), you can usually find designer items at affordable prices. I don't fault you for being excited about a new pair of jeans, though, OP! It's nice to have that experience! But hopefully you'll come to the realization that there isn't that much difference, and being eco-friendly also has its importance. |
| You never owned jeans? |
| I'm certainly curious about the backstory but good for you! It's an exciting day when we try something new for the first time even though it's old hat to most. I can remember being a plus size teen finding out for the first time that they made jeans in my size. Was thrilled. So I get it and I am happy for you! |
I'm thinking conservative Christian culture. I have some relatives who think women should always wear skirts/dresses and pants are for men. |
