all HS age RL teams do not have a spring season. 05/06 07 08 09s… All.. the lower teams will attempt to have a season with pool players.. this is true of all clubs with RL teams..

So why do the kids on those teams pay full price when they only have half a year of practices and games?

Good question

Because 09B top team - ENCL R was not told we wouldn't have a spring season. The 2nd and third team do have games. In fact, quoted earlier in this thread was the top team coach in early April still messaging to the parents on the top team that he was working on setting up scrimmages. That went no where. And the third team cannot convince enough of their players to play spring games so the other two teams have been sending kids to play. So at least if a top team player wants to play - they can play with the third team?!

So the third team is full of top team players? Sucks to be a third team player now.

Oh heck no - it's great! The boys from the third team that do show up now get to train (game) with better players -- a rising tide raises all ships. Again, the third team is not showing up in enough numbers at games to actually field a team -- it's not like they are being benched in place of a better player. They are all playing together. Their last game, even with inviting Gold and White players to play, they had TEN on the field throughout the entire game. So yeah, it would suck if the entire third team was showing up and getting benched, but as it has been, if they show up they play AND get to play with (ok sometimes marginally) better players.

ETA - and by 10 on the field I mean that was the mix of Gold, White, and Black -- ie, if that third team's kids had shown up, they could have actually had a full team to play (and maybe even subs - thank goodness it wasn't too hot).

Any idea what is going on with the girls side? I see the RL 2011 G team is first in their bracket. What is going to happen to them next year with the coach leaving and taking players?

He's taking the best players to SYC. The team will be weaker. Valor is moving one of their well liked coaches over to that team to try and staunch the carnage

went to u12 boys tryout yesterday and my ds played with their 3rd team and maybe 2nd team. I saw their u12 top team and they looked really above. some valor teams look really good. will try out to other clubs as my ds don't have a chance to make their top or even second team.

Its a huge soccer factory. There will be good, bad and mediocre coaches.

This year it looks like they have four teams for U12 boys and are planning on four more next year. So your kid will likely make a team, but who wants to pay for team 3 or 4.

That guy Cory that’s on the girls side is a good guy but an awful coach.

Cory is an idiot. Human and coach. Valor leaders are just a bunch of greedy boys.

What makes you (both) say this?

Trying to understand what to expect.

He and the guy he works with, Karim, both act like they walk on water. Neither know how to develop or get the most out of players, both are demeaning.

If thats your kids team, shop around elsewhere. Tryouts have begun for most age groups and they haven't hired coaches. What they are saying is they don't care about these particular teams. These are disposable, weak teams and if they everntually find a coach, it will be someone not good/ qualified. i bet if you checked these teams would all lose all or most of their games.

Last tryout for my dd's age group is tonight and they still have coming soon for the third coach. will they send an offer out without a coach

The Facebook page says they are an elite soccer club. I’m sure they care about those lower teams as much as the top teams.
