They would look like CalTech, MIT, Oxford, Cambridge.

Affirmative action is a net negative on society, particularly for the URMs. Whoever sought out URM doctors, lawyers, engineers, CPAs...? There will always be a perception among racists that URMs just aren't as good, can't compete, etc. Net negative. Not net positive.

Fixed it for you.

What do Cal and UCLA look like?

There have never been enough seats at highly selective institutions, so they get to choose from among the vying customers. It is not sad. There are hundreds of great colleges in America. People really need to acquire some perspective.

Being shut out of HYP is not SUFFERING or OPPRESSION.

Try telling that to LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryan, Michal Jordan that they don't have the goods to get to the NBA, Jim Brown to the NFL, Jackie Robinson, Dave Winfield to the MLB, Muhammad Ali, George Forman in boxing, Serena Williams in tennis...

It's net positive only if you also believe limiting Jews to 2 or 3% is for the greater good of the society. Only racists believe in this.

When was the last time anyone sought out black doctors when their life depended on it?

NP. Unfortunately, I have encountered many people that say that about Asian doctors and professors. However, it isn't a question of intelligence, it is about language/accents and cultural differences.

Clarence Thomas is an a**hole. Bought my house near Potomac Ave Metro in 1996 and liked it better then. Have had Black doctors take care of me many times and one performed a surgery that saved my life so I’m not following the pp above.
I’m white btw.

My question about college admissions is — would the majority of the student body be Asian if Asians weren’t limited by quota at selective schools? Unfair to Asians but whites wouldn’t get to go to selective schools nor would anyone else. A few but the campuses will be Asian dominated.

How does this make you feel? Reach deep and tell the truth. I’m going to admit that it makes me uneasy but I don’t know what the right answer is.

What is wrong with you? Ever heard of Ben Carson in his prime? Just one example of many.

Clarence Thomas is another example. He went to an ivy I believe - before affirmative action. Yet, most discount this great jurist assuming he is where he is because of affirmative action. After you sell your house to move into the hood so your kids can experience the diverse community, we can talk. You don't believe in it, so why do you think others will believe in your nonsense.

I am an URM, you idiot. We exist outside of the hood, you know. People think Clarence Thomas isn’t a good justice because he never speaks in arguments and rarely authors opinions. Perhaps he is, as you say, a great jurist, but who would ever know? Carson, on the other hand, has achieved results in surgery that were thought to be impossible. I hope you spew your racist sh*t in real life - makes it easier for the decent among us to avoid you.

This great jurist will never achieve greatness as Chief Justice as long as we have idiots like you who assume he’s where he is bc of affirmative action. All the arguments are in writing in briefs. Oral is a dog and pony show for people like BK to show off.

You probably feel “uneasy” watching football and basketball. Only racists would feel uneasy at the accomplishment of black athletes. Ask Caltech and MIT if they have issues with a certain group of people dominating their population.

Put down your mommy juice and pay attention. I explicated stated the reasons people don’t think he is a “great jurist,” none of which had anything to do with affirmative action.

What do Cal and UCLA look like?

UCLA = "University of Caucasians Lost in Asia" -- this was a nickname used back in the 90s, I think.

Don't know if Cal has such a nickname, but there a ton of Asians.

Full disclosure - I'm Asian, used to live in CA, and I have friends/family who went to both.

Cal:
The enrolled student population at University of California-Berkeley, both undergraduate and graduate, is 30.2% Asian, 26.8% White, 14.1% Hispanic or Latino, 5.36% Two or More Races, 2.13% Black or African American, 0.153% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.148% Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islanders.

Stop being dramatic. And racist.

There's no need to try to "imagine" what colleges would look like if anti-Asian discrimination policies didn't exist in admissions; you can look in our very own backyard at schools like Caltech, MIT, or the California schools, or even Oxbridge and LSE across the pond.
