That’s funny because when marsden emailed me last week he refused to say he supported it and implied he wanted kids vaccinated before schools opened. I guess he changes his mind. |
Ebbin and Favola voted to let schools stay closed...
Marsden, petersen, surovell, Howell voted yes. |

Samirah delisamirah@house.virginia.gov 87 Suhas Subramanyam DelSSubramanyam@house.virginia.gov 804-698-1087 ----- SAMPLE LETTER FOR DELEGATES: Dear <DELEGATE NAME>, My name is <YOUR NAME> and I live in <ZIP CODE>. SB1303, a bill from Senator Dunnavant that would require schools in VA to provide an in-person option, has passed the Senate and will be headed to the House Floor. I IMPLORE YOU to support this legislation when it comes up for a vote. I am not asking for families to be forced to return to in-person education. I am asking for families to be allowed the choice for their children to attend school in-person. This should not be an outrageous request. The reality is that the Commonwealth government got us into this mess when it shuttered schools in March 2020. Some school districts have proven to be inept at handling the issue, and because of that kids are struggling mentally and academically. As a society we have an obligation to help our children before we help ourselves. The state government has an obligation to put its foot down to rectify this situation. Please set a baseline standard, as described in Article VIII of our Commonwealth constitution for what is expected from school districts in exchange for the billions of taxpayer dollars they receive and the trust they are provided to shepherd the education of our children. Please support SB1303 to ensure school districts reopen. Thank you for giving consideration to my views. Sincerely, <YOUR NAME> |

OMG - what a load of crap. |
So tweak it, or send your own letter opposing, or whatever. It's just a sample. |
I really wish this bill was specific to 5 days a week. All it requires is that they be open for 1 day a week. The expectations should have been set higher. |
When you write/call your delegate, ask for an amendment. |
My letter is going to say don't support this bull crap. Don't force schools open. Make schools safer so people want them to open. |
People DO want them open! |
Everyone wants them open. Only some people want them open no matter what. Most parents want to open when it’s safe - AKA after teachers get their vaccines. |

New CDC head said don’t tie school reopening to vaccines. It’s safe enough without. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/03/cdc-director-says-schools-can-safely-reopen-without-vaccinating-teachers.html |
They don’t have your best interest at heart. Powers that be are more than ok culling world population. It’s up to you to decide if you want to be part of the cattle. |
Most parents think its safe now. |
