| It really did seem like a moment out of a Christopher Guest movie: “If I’ve told them once, I’ve told them a thousand times: Put Spinal Tap first and Puppet Show” last.” |
This! Find a local Republican donor with a huge estate and do it there! |
That’s their bullshit story but there’s no way that is true. The part I believe is that they didn’t want to do it outside near the vote counting center because there are street crowds from both sides who would make a lot of noise and try to interfere with it. So I think they thought they could do it at the Four Seasons Hotel, close enough for the press to get to, and stupidly told Trump that plan before securing the site and he tweeted it out. The hotel said no way, we don’t want you drawing the partisan crowds to our hotel, and then instead of finding another appropriate venue and making the President correct his tweet, they booked the Four Seasons Total Landscaping 20 miles away and made Trump and Giuliani look 100 times more foolish than if they had postponed it until they found a good site. |
Seriously! They could have done it at the parking lot of a Marriott Courtyard in the suburbs, and it would have been infinitely better than this location. It makes absolutely no sense, particularly because the company has a similar name of a hotel. It had to been a screw-up. But I, for one, appreciate it. Was great comic relief for me for the past 24 hours. |
Lol...WHAT. So somebody associate with the legal team and really booked this venue? This makes no sense!! 😂 😂 |
This is one of the two likely scenarios. The other is that one of their doofuses called and booked this landscaping company [instead of the hotel] in error. Both are incredible displays of buffoonery, though! |
| Yeah...it can’t be a coincidence that this particular business is named the Four Seasons. Somebody done goofed. |
| It’s like they have no idea where to hold events in a state if Trump doesn’t own a hotel there. Wouldn’t they have had multiple campaign offices throughout Pennsylvania? |
|
A campaign office would have been perfect. Scrappy, in there fighting, determined.
Instead -- the backdrop of peepshow booths. At least there is no video evidence that Giuliani needed to "tuck in his shirt" while there. You know -- you just know -- at some point, someone half-muttered "How bad can it be?" (Readers, it was bad.) |
God, this is glorious! |
I know, right?! I am absolutely certain that the discussion after that remark was along the lines of "we'll put the backdrop step and repeat banner up, and if they stand in front of that, nobody is going to be looking to either side anyway, right? And it's a landscaping place, so how bad can the landscaping outside be?" (Readers ...) |
