Daycares are cutting current families to meet the distancing rules. Very few are letting kids off waitlists.

No doubt that is true for some, but I have heard of at least two centers in MoCo with open spots available, including for infants, as they are reopening. Lots of families are not sending their children back right now.

Ironically, infants may be easier because they can operate at full room capacity even with number of people restrictions. It’s the older rooms that would have too many people. Plus, more people may be hesitant to send younger kids than before.

The return rate seems to vary widely. At some centers, families are being cut, but in others waitlist families are getting in.

Goddard School Rockville sent out an e-mail a couple of days ago advertising infant and toddler spots.
