Are people going to be more likely to redshirt because of COVID?

Yes. I think parents with the means are definitely going to keep their kids out of kindergarten this year.

I'm concerned with what this means for next year. I have a Sept birthday kid that should go to K next year (barely makes the cut off) and I'm already thinking about holding her back because she's going to be thrown in with a bunch of older red-shirted kids from this year AND she'll have missed out on a year of socialization because of distance learning. Ugh.

If DC area schools gave a $hit about what’s developmentally or academically best for your kid or any kid they wouldn’t be refusing to teach in person with the low Covid stats and risks in our counties for months.

At that point people should just homeschool, the kids will get more out of it than virtual learning.

Very true.
