You can't possibly actually be this stupid, can you? Going to church during a pandemic = completely unnecessary = death cult Going to the supermarket during the pandemic = required to live = not ideal but necessary. I'll make you a deal. Get your magic sky wizard to magic groceries into everyone's cabinets and you can go to church without being a death cult. |
DP. Surely you haven't forgotten mass protests during a pandemic = heartwarming! fantastic! join in or be labeled a racist! You can't possibly leave those out and expect to be taken seriously. |
But it's fine to crowd into Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot! Drove past those places numerous times during the shutdown and the parking lots were full! Get out of your sheltered box and take a look at things from an objective point of view. If the virus was as bad as was portrayed then absolutely everything should have been shut down... with the exception of food and medical supplies. Stop looking for ways to justify your weak point of view. |
Protests were outdoors and largely masked. So based on that, outdoor, masked church services are fine. Any indoor services should follow the same rules that are in place for any indoor setting (eg 50% capacity) and EVERYONE should wear masks indoors, it goes without saying. |
Yes, because surely every single person who thinks it's not OK to go to church thinks you absolutely must go to a protest... If you have a valid point to make, you can make it without resorting to straw men. Take a deep breath and try again. |
The title of this thread says it all - death cult. Why on earth does the left think that getting the coronavirus is some kind of death sentence? The VDH website shows a mortality rate of 2%. Take precautions, socially distance, protect the elderly and get on with your life! |
That's literally what we're talking about here, how the Republicans refuse to take precautions, socially distance, and protect the elderly. We want nationwide mandates to do all of those things but Republicans are preventing it, which has led to over 100,000 deaths so far and will undoubtedly lead to more in the future. Jonestown DEATH CULT: 909 people dead Heaven's Gate DEATH CULT: 39 people dead Republican refusal to act on COVID, 128,000 people dead BuT ToTAlLy nOT a DeAtH cULt! |
The only way we get past CV is herd immunity. Not masks, not social distancing, not staying home. Herd immunity needs to happen. That's why we were only supposed to flatten the curve to spread out the time it takes people to get it. |
We’re not even managing to do that. |
Weird how just about every other country in the world is on track to reopen with fractions of the cases and deaths. Maybe Vietnam could share with us their secret of how they achieved herd immunity and zero new cases with only 0.0003% of their population getting infected and absolutely nobody dying? |
Why don't more churches have services outside? Can't they just set up chairs in their parking lots? They could rent those big awnings like you do for a wedding, if it's too hot and sunny. I know some churches wouldn't have the budget for that, but many would. |
The valid point is this: MOST people who scold others for doing mundane things like going to the store, or church, etc. (masked and social distancing), are also the same people who saw NOTHING wrong with mass protests. Doesn't matter if they were "largely" masked and outside - plenty of people did NOT wear masks and it only takes a few to spread the virus. Lots of asymptomatic protesters are already spreading covid among their communities. |
Could not agree more. Exactly this. |
.0004% of our population has died of Covid. Did you think it was more? That many died of H1N1 during the Obama years, and that was was a virus we have a vaccine for. |
