Well then UVA should be off your list as well.

Hannah Graham
UVA LAX player killed girlfriend Yardley Love
Jens Soering UVA student and murderer

Nice! VT loves to turn everything into a "but what about UVA????" situation. Sad.

many schools have some kind of ROTC program?

They aren't so close to Washington. They aren't a direct feed to the intelligence community the way VY is.

1) What is wrong with the intel agencies? They do a really important job keeping the country safe.
2). From my experience, VT is not over represented. GMU, UMD are over-represented.

What is VA Tech like for a non-stem major?
Anonymous
They seem to have a good theater program, have had many interesting faculty in the English department, good speakers and arts programs brought to campus. Business takes care of their grads wrt networking in midAtlantic. Architecture and interior design strong. Few traditional art classes. Some good foreign languages. Many study abroad opportunities.

Can you get a liberal arts type degree at Tech?
Anonymous
VT had a Phi Betta Kappa chapter last I checked. I consider that a minimum qualification. I wouldn't send a student anywhere for liberal arts that didn't.

. Not for engineering. You need better than a 4.0 weighted[/quote /+1. True. When we toured admissions said a 4.0 weighted was the bottom for admissions to engineering That was also repeated at the engineering open house. For engineering the prefer to see calculus BC finished with a grade before admitting. DC was encouraged to not to apply EA ( this was before ED) and apply RD because he would not have calculus BC finished at the end of junior year.

Yes. And unfortunately for best choices, freshmen should be looking now.
