This is pretty reliable. Note ‘lemonade’ means soda. Remember not to overmix or twist the cutter. Get clotted cream from WF or Giant. |
| I love them! With clotted cream and tea |
| Maybe you feel the same way about scones that I feel about many pies. Pumpkin pie and pecan pie, in particular, do not appeal to me. Not a fan of brownies, either. |
| I absolutely love scones. |
| Right on Sister! I'm there in your corner about the Scones barbaric baking soda flavour - cause most bakeries make them on the cheap,! However, there are brilliant recipes from the 1950's- tasty 😋 good scones drizzled with maple glaze. And much More!!! |

Just got back from Britain.
Lawdy lawd.....cream tea with a good scone and clotted cream is sooooo sooooooooo delicious. So many calories and fat, but sooooo good. |

Scones are edible rocks.
Scones look like they were made to throw at people for public punishment. |
You bumped this thread to add that bit of wisdom? Thanks? |
| Interesting thread full of comments from people who don't understand what the issue is -- that most of the pastries one buys and eats in the US are awful. And scones are not something one is going to like, if you have any taste at all, if you get a crap one from Starbucks. Or the grocery store. Or whatever. |
| I love a good cream scone. The crumbly texture is perfect for tea and I like that you an make them sweet or savory with just minor tweaks to the recipe. In DC my favorite scones are at maketto on H Street. |
| I love scones. I rarely eat them outside of my home, I prefer to make my own. In Scotland, I eat potato scones. |
| I love scones fresh out of the oven. I don’t love them a day or two later. |
I also don’t love store-bought scones. |
+1. I’d rather have a fresh danish or croissant. |
| Fresh scones out of the oven are my favorite treat! |
