Thank you, PP who posted that link. I will never sleep tonight. I hope they sue the pants off that man. Or not...

Chances are that they really did, truly stink.

I would totally be in favor of kicking smelly people out of public situations - both BO, and dousing yourself in perfume/cologne. And yes dude on the stair master at the gym who always smells like he thoroughly bathed in cologne at 6pm. You reek in a very gross way.

I was in an airport bathroom once and the lady at the sink next to me was literally slathering on a very pungent perfume. Spraying it and walking through it, spraying it directly on her skin and clothes. I couldn't believe how rude someone would have to be to do that and then board a plane.

Anyway, serious question: Can anyone point me to previous incidents in which a family or individual has been kicked off an airline flight for body odor before?

What are you talking about? Alt-right? What does horrible body odor have to do with political leanings? Sorry, not everything can be blamed on those you disagree with politically.

We can never know if bias influenced the perception of BO and led to harsher treatment of individuals honestly suffering from some minor hygiene issues. I know as a woman suffering hot flashes, that I can go from fresh to putrid in minutes. Although I always carry spare clothes on a plane just in case I feel gross and want to feel better for my own benefit.

This is what annoys me. Apparently, it's only ok to criticize someone's body smell if they are white with no obvious ethnic tells. Any POC is OFF LIMITS to criticism, according to some of you. I don't care if you're green and purple. If you smell, you need to exit the plane.

And they stink. Bathing shouldn't be optional.

But as people we need to be more tolerant of people smelling like people. So many posters here think people should have no smell or have a fake perfume smell. And the folks that complain about the smell of someone’s head from not washing everyday should probably just never leave the house. I get really bad BO can smell bad, but expecting people to be shower fresh at all times is ridiculous.

I would love to place you in a middle aisle of a trans-Atlantic flight, sandwiched between travelers who either don't care about personal hygiene, haven't had a chance to bathe in days, just ate a stinky meal, or all of the above. Then get back to us.

Sometimes people really do have a horrible foul stench.

JMU?

No, UVA.
