Ever hear of doing the right thing?

These kids get to go to school, they don’t get to lie and cheat to take what’s not theirs.

Agree, but please don't blame the kids, blame their parents.

The residency cheaters I know of on Capitol Hill live in DC, but not in bounds for the school they attend through residency fraud.

If you're certain that these "residency fraud" perps don't own or rent an in-boundary property, and didn't lottery in from OOB, why not report them to OSSE instead of bitching here?

Sorry to say, your definition of in-bounds is unlikely to correspond to OSSE's. From what I can tell, DC really only cares if parents file DC income tax returns from an in-boundary address, pick up school-related correspondence there, and get their kids to school on time consistently. No objections to the arrangement (and I live across the street from the IB school where we enroll our kids).

The residency cheaters probably aren't cheaters, at least not in the City's terms. Everybody seems to "know" of cases, but nobody gets busted. Go figure. PP drama queens and busybodies do like to cast aspersions.

I can’t speak for all schools, but I definitely See this at Stuart Hobson and ludlow taylor ever school day.

I also see huge lines of Maryland plates outside Perry St Prep and KIP high school.

Come on, there are far fewer MD plates at Ludlow than there were just two or three years ago, before the new principal came.

At the rate the school is going, Ludlow will be as UMC as Maury in two or three years. Sorry to dissapoint you, but of state residency cheating just isn't a serious problem at Ludlow in 2018.

I guess half the cars at the charter on my street must be loaners too.

To the person following someone home- this is stalking and its against the law.

Following someone home isn’t “stalking.” Nice try, though.

what is the deal with people obsessed with this. There was one student at our WOTP school people gossiped about a residency issue. When someone reported it. It was looked into. She was pulled out of the school in about a week. If you have concerns, report them. Most of the times it is an issue of custody, nannies, work cars, etc etc. Occasionally it's special services. So seriously do that if it bothers you and then let it go.

Yes, I can see how you wouldn’t understand the big deal when you’re at a WOTP school where this isn’t actually a problem.

I think the obsession without action is what's so bizarre and crazy. Report it or let it go. You either have enough info to report or you don't, and if you don't, you can't make the case.

It is weird as hell though and not typical behavior.

Everyone so worried about MD plates at drop off and pick up get a life and a hobby. As much as you bitch and moan nothing is going to be done about it. You can get as mad as you want but you have no control over the situation. You’re just gonna huff and puff and stay mad. You are all looking silly...following people home and stuff. You can’t do anything but be mad and report it. And then stay mad because whoever you report is gonna continue to be right at the school. Pointless energy

I have reported cheaters with multiple links providing evidence, even a link to the cheater’s own listserv post selling things “because [they’re] moving to Bethesda.” OSSE has ONE PERSON ldealing with this issue, or did until recently. Nothing is done when you report.

Yeah, idiots. Stop caring so much, it’s just not klassy. Let me lie, chest, and steal in peace. Everyone else is doing it (Trump, Kavanaugh, everyone on the right) so this is a brave new world, suckers.

So are most of those cheaters low income but want to attend “better” schools?
