Gesture for White Power is pretty believable to me.
The movement has been pulling away from the skinhead image and toward "guy next door." Blending in is a form of terrorism. You never know who might hate you. Separate but related note: isn't Stephen Miller Jewish? |
Is that Stephen Miller making the OK sign? I thought you said this was a picture of interns. |
Also....how could a Jew be a White Nationalist? Don't they hate Jews? |
There's some psychology theory somewhere about joining and even leading a threatening group as a security method. Hitler is rumored to have been Jewish. Gangs, terrorist groups, cults - recruitment preys on those who are isolated, ostracized, emotionally weak, seeking membership, etc. There's probably some ritual that must be performed to show that you hate Jews and - yipppee, you're in! You probably get extra clout in the Brotherhood of Losers for demonstrating self-hatred. No greater proof that you belong. |
| That's an OK sign. |
Thanks for posting that link. |
Sorry, still doesn't make sense. A Jew wants to show that he hates Jews, so he joins a hate group against Jews (among others). I think that's quite a stretch. I'm Jewish, btw. |
You posit people who join protest movements are actually afraid of the protest movement. Got it. I despise Richard Spencer. Period. Full Stop. |
Stephen Miller is also Jewish. |
I'm not positing this is the reason people join - people join groups for all kinds of reasons. The unfathomable is not the impossible. These are the truest words I've read recently. They come from this articleThe Nationalist's Dilemma. The writer was referring to the "ridiculous" belief that Trump supporters are racist, but it applies to the idea that a Jewish person would join a white power group. Unfathomable? For some people. Impossible? Uh, no. |
He's also racist AF. |
Dig a little deeper to put the ADL view in a more accurate context. https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2017/06/12/what-ok-hand-signal-means-militia-movement |
Born a Jew but now damaged by false propaganda and filled with self loathing. |
Actually it does make sense. As a perfect example, just look at all of the gay sex scandals that have happened over the years involving right wing political figures who were publicly viciously anti-gay. They are trying to deny what they are. |
No, he's a secret communist!
