| Entitlement grew from longstanding and generational affirmative action for my race...whites.... in America. Any bone head with, at least, below average knowledge of US history cannot refute this fact. |
Are you being willfully ignorant or are you truly this ill-informed? You think an Asian with a father who owns a company (I know rare) is measure the same way an Asian from Wootton HS. They are not. The Asian with a hook will get the same advantage as any kid with a hook. You think a white lacrosse player at Harvard has the same SAT scores as a white person without a hook? You think that a black student who is a recruited athlete has the same SAT scores as a black kid who does not play a sport. You can't lump kids/races ... the math is not telling you the story. A hispanic girl who is a 3rd generation american with rich parents and ancestors from Spain are not measured with the same stick as a hispanic girl who came to this country from El Salvador at 12. Her score that is 150 points lower than a white kid with food and tutors is way more impressive and tells a better story than your 150 points. |
Great- so let's base it on SES then. |
Being Asian is the opposite of having a hook. And the rest of your anecdotal hypotheticals are ridiculous. Just read the Princeton study and try not to be such a bore. |
I have read all kinds of studies including the one that kids with his IQ are less successful than kids with IQ's in the "sweet spot". The fact is that you thought you were playing a game and you thought you knew the rules, but you didn't and you pissed away 18 years of your kids life test prepping them instead of preparing them for life. The solution is to stop taking Asians with high test scores and take the ones in the "sweet spot" who have a more interesting story. Ad hominem argument shows that you don't actually have an argument... it's like a white flag, I accept your surrender. |
or base it on the kids that are the most interesting and throw the BS testing away. |
You are clearly unhinged. Seek help. |
| ^^^NP here. Not taking sides but that is such a BS response and so over used on DCUM. |
You're right of course but there is no upside to continuing an argument with an irrational actor. |
There is an upside to admitting you played the game and lost. You thought that "getting in" was a game based on getting the highest score on the SAT and GPA and you were wrong. Instead of just accepting that you were wrong you want to point out into the world and say, the world is wrong. It's not healthy, seek help. |
That is total crap. You are wrong. |
What are you babbling on about? My DC was accepted at his first choice college which is ranked in the top 10. My wife and I both graduated from Ivy league institutions and have MBAs from top 10 schools. We understand far better than you ever will what the admissions process is all about. |

The Asian fear is incredible. On one hand Asian kids study too much so they are robots and on the other A's are handed out like candy. i.e. no study required.
Even if this legal action goes nowhere, I'm glad its happening because it opens up the discussion. It is disturbing that in the DMV, reputed as the most educated region in the country, we could hear such negative stereotyping from all directions. |

One of the County' s venerable institutions: Walt Whitman High School
Note almost 80 percent of students make the Honor Roll and 20 percent (1/5) of the students have straight As. This phenomenon is increasingly typical around the County, City, State and Country. How do kids differentiate themselves to Colleges when a A grade is given out like M and Ms falling from the skies. Surely dummies here believe these honor roll kids from this one HS belong at Harvard or MIT or else some other brown kid took their place? In the 19th and 20th century this result would have been certain. There were no seats for brown Americans.

| Entitlement was spawned by longstanding and multi-generational (legacy) affirmative action for Whites in America. And that's the whole crux of the matter. This is not fake news or history as most would like to forget and simply dismiss. |
