I have a real question. What do you get from being so rude? Does it make you feel good? Do you actually hate “liberals” that much? Do you actually walk around thinking about how judgmental liberals are of your choices? I cannot imagine that liberals or anyone else actually care that much about you or what you do. I’m serious. Don’t walk around thinking like that. It’s bad for you, it’s bad for the country. I’m sorry I can’t seem to convince you, but I really do not care about what you do. You could be a bot program for all I know. That’s how I think of other posters on this forum. And I only said that car enthusiasts like my car because all of our friends who are car enthusiasts really like my car. I don’t understand how you read so much into this. |
| I don't like taking tax money that could be spent on helping poor people and giving tax rebates/tax breaks to rich people who buy $100,000 sports cars. I also don't like the moralizing that comes from people who buy luxury electric cars, like they are somehow out there saving the world. |
Ok. But again, what do you get from being rude and reading all your personal pet peeves into people’s statements? That is truly bizarre. And the Republicans has a chance to eliminate the electric car subsidy with their tax bill. How do you feel that they didn’t take it? Did you call your Republican representative and have a conversation or do you express your frustration to anons who can’t do anything about it? |
This, this, THIS. Finally, some rational ideas. |
Like most republicans, I don't hate liberals, I just have the observation that most liberals are misinformed and have not put in the requisite time and effort to learn and analyze a topic before forming a very strong opinion about it that not only affects their own decisions but they push to affect the decision of others - case in point your ideas about the lovability of electrical vehicles to any car enthusiast. I don't have to walk around thinking about this, liberals take every opportunity to remind me, down to making fun of me getting gas. So if you think that I am rude, it's because I'm pushing back on your attitude - reflect on that for a minute. You don't have to believe me if you don't want to, but Tesla's buyer base has traditionally contained a lot of well funded people who likes tech but few actual car enthusiasts. The fact that you like them and your "car enthusiast" friends like them are just anecdotes - I have no way to ascertain that they are actually car enthusiasts. You don't have to take my word for it, go google "why do car enthusiasts like tesla" and see what the top result is. |
Because... only Republicans currently pay taxes? Dafuq? |
I know you are but what am I?
(and you're still showing you're too damned stupid and/or selfish to understand the difference between data points and data trends) |
Umm... you sound like you have a huge chip on your shoulder. Shake it off. I don’t even have a Tesla nor could I really afford one but you keep talking about it. You are calling me misinformed when all I expressed was obviously my own opinion. You just seem to be taking DCUM too seriously. This is not the place to go for serious analysis. Again are you directing your ire at the Republican representatives who could have eliminated electric car subsidies but failed to do so? |
Especially since the highest tax paying states are solidly progressive. |
I’m sure all the wealthy Republicans in blue states appreciate this. |
Rebates are only on cars under 50k. Zing. |
Actually Dems(blue states) pay for everything in this country. Federal tax dollars should be allocated as a percentage of dollars contributed by each state. It’s time for the free riders(conservatives/Republicans) to be kick to the side. |
I do not know that much about non electric cars. Most battery systems are luquid-cooled, also... Or not at all (the leaf, which is an issue ) . Okay then, no carberators. In four years of electric car ownership we've rotated the tires, changed the brake fluid and replaced the cabin filter. That's it. The only other thing we may have to do is replace the tires and someday the 12v |
Well now, slinking back to hide behind your opinion, except your post as captured above starts off with the factual claim "A lot of the arguments against electric cars on this thread have been false." and the proceeds to support this claim with not just your own feelings towards electric cars but what all other car enthusiasts would feel. It's too late now for you to claim that you were just expression opinion. Don't blame me for being serious when your position has been revealed to be weak, just learn your mistakes and move on. Dealing with the real world as it is and not how you think it is is how people mature out of their liberal views. Oh yea, bad Republican representatives for not eliminating electric car subsidies, bad! Terrible! The worst! |
It's cool, it's not necessary to know a lot about cars to use them, appreciate them, or even to love them. You just have to enjoy what they do for you. Again I agree with your points but there are gearheads out there that will dismiss your views because you don't speak their language.
