Can you imagine working so hard for years to get into one of the most competitive schools in town and landing your 1st choice! Only to have to scramble right after final tuition bills were due and not have another spot open anywhere else in town? It would have been really helpful if that school had done something with all the other red flags that had gone down with this class in the past 2-3 years. What a dreadful situation for that young girl and her family...and it could have all been prevented.

That is the tragedy of the whole situation. Talk about being blindsided. That poor girl.

+1M Feel so terrible for that girl and her family.

If I am not mistaking, Melania Trump initiated anti-cyberbullying campaign, can't say it is succesfull as it had already provoked a lot of contradictions, but still it is a good beginning. I think nobody can do for our kids more than we can, both parents and teachers must take necessary measures to protect children from cyberbullying, cheating, different scammers, so-called predators and data phishing. Here's a good guide to read and to start teaching youth to protect themselves from dangerous content, websites, strangers in the web. All the cases of cyberbullying must be reported, children should know that personal data and passwords can't be shared with anyone.

If your kid posts videos of themselves using swear words on you tube, the school has every right, under most of these contracts, to discipline your child if the video comes to their attention. Whether they have the balls to stand up to parents is another subject.

What is the discipline for a teen swearing? Wash their mouth out with soap?

But if it's a private school where it's the big donor's kid(s) is/are doing the bullying, they are not inclined to actually punish. Can the victim talk to the police instead?

What happened? Can you give more insight? Was this on Instagram or Twitter or on a group chat? I think it depends I know what was posted in what manner it was posted.

It’s been almost a year since this thread began. Why did it start up again?

Someone was trying to promote one of Trump's women.

Look NCS isn’t alone here. WIS, considered downright hugs all the way, has protected horrible off campus bullying, and let numerous victims squeak away rather than going after the VIP parents. Take the child out of the situation ASAP.

I don't think it helps the discussion to bring up particular schools as the risk of this happening can be anywhere.

For flips sake start a new dang thread. So many ancient threads being resurrected, and invariably most respondents don’t see the dates and start answering the OP rather than the person who restarted the thread, even if the person who restarted has an actual question vs useless comment.
