People taking their dogs into CVS, and other places that sell food

Anonymous
To start, CVS don't really sell food, except sodas, juices, chips, breakfast bars....etc...etc... It's not a restaurant. Everything is protected in packages.
So for the first person in this blog, I am not crazy, I love my dog that's all, and yes, if I have to run an errands very fast and buy something at CVS, I don't want to leave my ADORABLE dog outside on the street, because what ever you say, somebody may take him. And If I decide to take him with me, it's because I know him very well and I know he is well behaved because I teach him to do so, like I did with my children. So the problem don't always come with the animals, but with their owners and the way they teach them how to behave.
You really sound like a CAT lady, and everybody knows what exactly means a cat lady....somebody with no friends, definitely with an attitude....not to say more....just to stay polite.
I love dogs, too, but I never bring mine anywhere there are not explicitly welcome. I am deathly allergic to cats (I can't even shop at Petsmart/PetCo it's so bad), and if someone thought it was cool to bring their cat into CVS with them I'd break out in hives. I assume the same could be true of my dogs, so I don't bring them with me. It's common courtesy. Something you clearly lack.

PP, I have a similar allergy to dogs. People who insist on bringing their dogs everywhere are pretty much ruining my life. I really wish I had the cat allergy instead, since people do not bring their cats to grocery stores and restaurants like dog people do.

LOL, seriously.

I bring my dog with me sometimes to Walgreens to pick up a prescription, dry cleaners, bank, etc. My dog needs to be walked and I have errands to run. It is just easier to do it together, rather than spend 30 min walking her, bring her home, and head back out for another 30 min of doing errands.

These places are all dog-friendly, have water bowls and treats, the employees love to pet her. She is on leash and doesn't jump on people, bark, or go to the bathroom. Just walks and sits next to me. If someone has a problem with this they have a huge stick up their bum.

I would never bring her anywhere that did not allow pets. She is an ESA, certified by my regular doctor to help with a variety of issues, but that only is for air travel and rental housing.

Or allergies. How about that, you self centered asshole?

Typical cat owner, selfish and self absorbed.

NP. Take it up with the stores that allow it, not the people abiding by the rules of the store.

If they are allowed there, then that's really the end of it. The "why" shouldn't concern you.

As for allergies - you're getting exposed to the dander anyway. You don't need the dog there for that.

As for not liking dogs, that is not my concern. It's yours (I don't bring mine only b/c it's faster not too.)

As a dog owner, I am against bringing animals into stores. I am happy with bistros, etc, allowing dogs on their outdoor patios.

I also want more restrictions for the therapy dog label.

Was in WalMart last weekend (yes they sell food) and there was a guy in there with two pit bulls on leashes! Doubtful they were “emotional support animals” they were barking loudly and made me nervous.
We left.

Easy solution for the dog haters: go to a store that doesn't allow pets.

And newsflash for those of you allergic: you're still being exposed to the allergens from pet owners who have their dander or hair on their bags, coats, etc. You just are. I'm allergic to perfumes, etc. and I still have to deal with others bathing themselves in their rancid perfumes.

Suck it up buttercup.

you are all
disgusting people. including all
of you that poke into your noses and touch stuff, go to restrooms and don’t wash your hands, put your filthy shoes where people sit (seems like it’s the favorite thing to do in america).

face it dogs are cleaner then you. the rest of the world allows dogs into stores and restaurants and no one complains. on the other hand in this country everyone feels entitled, just like you feel entitled to your AC and your disgusting food.

Wow. Where to even being with this? Yes if you have allergies you are exposed to dander from people who have pets, but that is no comparison to the reaction I have when an actual dog is present. I get hives and have trouble breathing. No amount of antihistamines helps me with this unfortunately.

And for the people saying take it up with the stores....I have! Often it turns out they have a policy against animals but employees are too scared to enforce it. Obviously i avoid pet smart and other places like Home depot that advertise as dog friendly. But I can't avoid every public place.

And to the person above with the "adorable dog," get over yourself.

NOT wanting dogs in stores is being entitled? In my mind, the real entitled people are the jerks that bring their ill behaved, foul smelling dogs into every public place because they just can't bear to be parted from them.

Leave your dog at home. It doesn’t belong in a public store .

yes it does if they allow them. you are clearly ignorant if you cannot even read. this conversation shouldn’t even be happening. if dogs are allowed you all have to shut up and live with it. again, people who go into a restroom and don’t wash their hands are allowed to then touch door handles, food and anything else, but dogs who’s only fault is to have hair and fur (just like humans have hair) are not. clearly you shouldn’t even put your feet into Europe cause you would be considered ignorants.
