Easy solution for the dog haters: go to a store that doesn't allow pets. And newsflash for those of you allergic: you're still being exposed to the allergens from pet owners who have their dander or hair on their bags, coats, etc. You just are. I'm allergic to perfumes, etc. and I still have to deal with others bathing themselves in their rancid perfumes. Suck it up buttercup.
Wow. Where to even being with this? Yes if you have allergies you are exposed to dander from people who have pets, but that is no comparison to the reaction I have when an actual dog is present. I get hives and have trouble breathing. No amount of antihistamines helps me with this unfortunately. And for the people saying take it up with the stores....I have! Often it turns out they have a policy against animals but employees are too scared to enforce it. Obviously i avoid pet smart and other places like Home depot that advertise as dog friendly. But I can't avoid every public place. And to the person above with the "adorable dog," get over yourself.
