DH and I have been watching his music videos and an airing of Purple Rain since we got home. Even the kids were singing and dancing to the music. This artist loss is really hitting me hard. I was really hoping to see him in concert again one day.

Bowie was 69. Liver cancer. He smoked like a fiend until only a few years ago, when he had a heart attack and heart surgery.

Perhaps. He was known to abuse substances in the 70's. But both Bowie and Prince are musical icons and great talents of our time, and ignorant statements will not diminish that.

Would love to hear what is so wonderful about people so eager to knock either of them, however.
