GDSS vs Sidwell

Al Gore went to STA. It isn't a big deal.

Argh, this is 9:25. Sorry for the weird misspelling on the second time -- I'm on my phone here.

Nah, my dear sockpuppet troll. Instead of being a hater, perhaps you should focus your energy and time on bettering your kid's school (or your actual school if you're a current student).
This whole Sidwell vs GDS argument seems silly because they're both tremendous schools.

I don't know about you all, but I find these X vs Y discussions frustrating. It's that time of year and I understand that it's a huge decision for young parents, but these threads bring out the crazies!! The discussion inevitably results in messed up mud slinging by angry uninformed people with way too much time on their hands. I suspect that most of the savvy parents from the best schools (public or private) in DC would never regularly post on dcum.

I'm the alleged hater sock puppet troll pp refers to. I don't hate GDS in the least. That doesn't mean that I don't agree with others that is a defensiveness to the way people write about it.

I wouldn't say chip or defensiveness, but there is a certain element of just trying too hard. I mean, c'mon, the response to presidents' children at Sidwell Friends is "but GDS has the Attorney General!" Only in Washington (and really only among a very small minority in DC) would anyone find that remotely interesting ... and especially about this AG.

I have no dog in this fight (rather a morbid curiosity keeps me coming back to this train wreck of a thread) but it seems to me you are the one who is trying just a little too hard to make sure GDS is put in its place. Why the need to continually call out posters? In theory their overreach should speak for itself. Seems a bit suspicious to me.

The AG is not sending his kids to GDS, fwiw. Not that anyone really cares one way or the other.

I think there are some people who are intentionally trying to stir up a fight between parents at the two schools. Sort of like the old schoolyard troublemaker ...

"Hey, John! I heard Tom called your mom a fat cow, and dared you to punch him in the nose!"

"Hey, Tom! I heard John says you're a scared little baby who is afraid to fight!"

And, of course, that's something a GDS parent would know. Lending credibility to the third-party trouble aker hypothesis...l

Perhaps GDS should ask AG Holder to investigate.

If it will make anyone feel better, our child chose GDS over the other Big 3 schools for Upper School. It is, like Sidwell and NCS/STA, an exceptional high school.
Anonymous
You child got in to both STA and NCS - that really is amazing.

GDS welcomes intersex kids!
Anonymous
More amazing is that apparently so do NCS and STA.
