I've noticed single women in their 40s who have not been married and don't have kids..

I've noticed since my 30k that childless women trend to look younger.

I have two kids, married and people still think I look 10 years younger than I am. I think genetics Plays a big role. I know several single women in their 20's that look close to 40. And I can't believe I'm admitting it but on the Princesses of Long Island, they all look old and they are mostly single and young.

And, the women I know who are single and childless are not nice people. I have gone do far as to tell one of them that they should smile more since I got so sick of the RBF...but then again, maybe they don't have RBF and are just a bitch.

Ha! DH thought those LI princesses were all in their 40s. A lot of NYers I know did not age well. He also thought Bethney Frankel was a 50-something .

Well, instead of playing the goddamn victim's role and making us all look like stupid whores, why not just divorce your boring husband?

And that relates to the topic exactly how?

There was a study within the past few years where they looked at a sample of people who lived to 100 or more. I think every female who lived that long was single and never had children. If I recall correctly most of the men who lived that long were married. You can call this stereotyping, but from my own experience with brothers and a husband-men need women to get on their case to go to the doctor and take care of their health.

I'll see if I can find an article about the study.

I don't get it. Why would I want to look "younger", "better" etc but be alone? What is the point? I do not envy single 40+ women, no matter what they look like, I pity them.

No, I have not noticed this.

I have seen married women with 3 kids who look fantastic and single women with no kids who look fantastic.

Likewise, I've seen married women with kids who look horrible and single women without kids who look horrible.

Everyone ages differently. There's a strong genetic component.

I'm 42 and childless (married, though) and people tell me I look 5 to 10 years younger than I am. I'm sure having kids wears you out and ages you-- how could it not?

On the other hand, I see these moms in their 20s and 30s all the time who are in way better shape than I am and look gorgeous.

Plus, my husband and I have struggled with infertility. I'd gladly look a little older if it meant I could have a baby.

No! She was born: born November 4, 1970. She's the same freakin' age as me and according to DH looks a decade older. I am mistaken for mid-30s frequently.

People are normally really surprised when they find out I am well over 40. But my single friends without kids look pretty damn good too. And I'm positive they look better than I do naked!

I think it's all in how you take care of yourself. Having kids can make finding the time to work out, shop, do make-up and hair....a lot more challenging! But if it's truly important to you, you'll find a way to make it happen.

You're the SAHM right?

Nope. I was for many years, but I work full time.
