I imagine these kids are tired of being treated like second class citizens by the administration and AAP students (and their parents). Your statement, above, is a perfect illustration of that. Just to let you know: once you get to high school, no one will know or care who was in AAP during elementary and/or middle school. And by that time, many of the previous Gen Ed kids will be far surpassing you.

I sincerely hope my child's middle school never becomes a center as it is fantastic just the way it is.

My goodness lady, what is wrong with you? You are way to insecure about this whole AAP thing if you feel compelled to have a nah-nah-nah-nah-nah confrontation with a JH kid.

Don't you remember what it is like to be in middle school? Were you ever a "nerd" or have a sibling who was a "nerd" or bookish or who loved math more than football?

Are you really justifying kids calling others names and picking on each other because some are in one program in school and others aren't? That a group of kids deserves to get picked on by other kids simply because of program decisions made by adults?

Middle and late elementary school are really difficult. Have some compassion for a kid. Treat them as you would want your own children to be treated.

Grow up. It is parents like you who give some of the schools in this area a bad name.

Seriously

Not the PP, but you are absolutely wrong. The quote, "we are the people that will become tomorrow's great minds" doesn't strike you as incredibly self-centered and egotistical (not to mention gramatically incorrect)? That kind of attitude is why the term "snowflake" was coined. These kids have been deluded into thinking that they are somehow superior to all the others. I don't see how you can defend someone who sees themselves in such terms, regardless of their age (though I highly doubt that was written by an actual middle school student). I've seen the other side of this bullying and it's just as hurtful, if not more so; AAP students speaking in a patronizing and rude way to the Gen Ed kids. The fact is, this whole AAP nonsense is just that: complete absurdity that creates divisiveness among elementary and middle school students, who, with the very rare exception, are not that different from one another. I agree 100% with the PP. Thank goodness for high school where it's an even playing field for all.

Seems you are the one with the insecurities... what on earth does football have to do with this? And do you actually believe the OP is a middle schooler? Reading DCUM? Please. Don't feed the troll.

This isn't a place for 7th grade students to hang out, dear, whether or not you are in AAP. It's like hanging out at a party with the adults upstaits who are drinking and telling bad jokes, when you could be down in the basement with other girls talking about the dreamiest 8th graders.

Nice. Bashing a 7th grade student. Big tough uber-mom speaking truth to power!

I bet you are real terror when getting your parking place at Whole Foods or negotiating to the front of the checkout counter.

And to think that I just thought that this forum was full of lame, chattering Yentas. You are a true tiger. Bravo to you!

I'd put the odds that a 7th grader would post on this site as well south of less 50%. But assuming she's legitimate, she needed to be told that what she wrote came across as arrogant.

and very likely untrue. Carson is like 3/4ths AAP so if anything the ones being mean and picking on people are the AAP types whwove been told they are quite special and better than everyone else.

Agreed. And this "7th grade student" (seriously? does anyone really believe that?) has quite a high impression of herself.

Of course, you're including yourself in that description, right? Because judging by your post above, you fit right in.

I am a concerned parent of an AAP child in LHMS. Most of LHMS is Gen-ed, so he gets bullied a whole lot. They call him bad names like "Asian kid" and "nerd". We are thinking of moving to a school like RCMS. Please advise.

A terribly worried parent.
