I question that, too, however, I was told by a couple of major newspaper editors I ran into in a hotel bar last year that sports coverage is basically all of their subscription growth and clickbait.

It’s not, though they were smart to purchase The Athletic. NYT gets more from games and cooking.

One famous Fox Sports host was busted last year sleeping with her executive boss and gossiping that she’ll accuse him of sexual assault if she didn’t get prestige promotions.
