it is literally less than one athlete per state, but the right would have you believe it is the majority of youth athletes in the country. |
I'm sorry this country is not in the business of cleaning up newspapers. Discard that source of information in your life if you don't like their reporting. |
If it is an overblown issue can we agree that athletes will participate in leagues corresponding with their biological sex and move on to bigger problems? Frankly, you can even narrow the compromise to just agreeing that biological males will participate in male leagues. Biological females could be free to participate in either. I, too, would love to move onto to more important problems. |
This is an important misunderstanding of history. America’s post WWII economic dominance which afforded us so much was always going to be temporary. America raced out ahead of the world after the war because much of the industrial base of the world was destroyed. We won because nobody else could compete, not because rod the superiority of our model. As countries rebuilt their economic bases, they slowly eroded our economic dominance. Slowly at first but then all at once. We helped squander that lead, but it was always going to come to an end. A simple and understandable example is the Japanese automakers eventually outcompeting and destroying the model that made labor unions so powerful and important in the USA after WWII. A lot of tiger things contributed to the decline, from both the Democrats and Republicans, but the post WII American economy was always going to be a temporary thing. |
Good. Do it starting now. |
I have switched to the Financial Times thank you. |
Newspapers are not cleaned up until they tell me what I want to hear. Why should I think for myself? |
Every media source has a bias. That doesn't mean it's not a valuable source of information, but try to understand the bias when you read it or view it or listen to it. |
You’re talking about economic superiority which is just one aspect of what PP was talking about. We didn’t need to cut education and infrastructure spending and export jobs like we did. We didn’t need to allow corporate interests to take over our government. |
| America is failing its citizens. Trump has decimated jobs. He blew up the deficit. He is acting like a madman in foreign policy. All these things while also using his office to grift anyone and everyone. Meanwhile his supporters are brainwashed zombies that support and parrot anything is says or does. Truly unbelievable. |
On the list of things I care about that affect my daily life, trans athletes rank several million spots below “why are toilet paper rolls half an inch shorter than they used to be” and “why am I paying three times as much for a box of Girl Scout cookies that has fewer, smaller cookies made with cheaper ingredients?” |
| Fed Chair Jerome Powell: "There is effectively ZERO NET JOB CREATION in the private sector." |
It’s not a misunderstanding of history, it’s what actually happened. Your point that it wasn’t sustainable is well taken, but we also didn’t have to return to the Gilded Age and repeat its mistakes. |
I’ve said it so many times before, but maga is terrible, TERRIBLE, at risk assessment and statistics. Trans athletes, voting ID, vaccines…it’s embarrassing to our educational system that they are willing to burn down the country based on fantasy. |
Thanks for nothing maga. |
