Why? Seriously explain the joke to us and why it is not offensive.

So powerful and true. Each and every one of them should be ashamed of themselves.

Have we heard from any of the hockey moms?

Not a hockey mom, but I can speak for sports' moms. They are thrilled with the win and could care less about your hurt feelings.

I'm sure not all of them will go, just as not all the Nats did, but can you please just choose more wisely what hill you are willing to die on?

Not everything has to be political

Dude (or dudette), when one (namely the Trump Administration) is using their platform to denigrate half the population in service of actively trying to restrict my civil rights, IT'S POLITICAL.

Trump is not required to be a jackass and make everything political, but he has chosen to do so, so here we are.

YOU are the one making it political. He invited the team to come and they accepted. Good grief. There are lots of presidents you can disagree with, but it is not hypocritical to accept an invitation and be recognized by the people in your country.

Do you not have access to the internet? Are you unable to watch the actual video? He denigrated the women’s team. He did this. we don’t take the blame for his behavior.

Relax. It’s just literally locker room talk. You’ve never made an off color joke?

Different context. It's one thing if you're in high school, but when you've just won an Olympic gold medal and are speaking to the President and being recorded, athletes are held to a higher standard. This is not just about a bunch of immature teenagers. This is diplomacy gone awry.

Okay, well you don't speak for this sports mom. No hurt feelings but a different message taught to my athletes about respect.

I'm pretty sure that few of us could name the men who compete, but most of us know who Simone Biles is.
Also, Mary Lou Retton. Shannon Miller. etc.

A lot has been said lately about the "Miracle on Ice." I remember where I was and the excitement when the team won. So, of course the men had more hype.

This is not an either/or situation.

We watch both in our house.

What does that have to do with the President saying the women's Olympic Gold winning team is only being invited because he "has to" or he'll "get impeached"?

As a sports mom, I have higher standards than you for my sons, who have the intellectual capacity and moral integrity to understand that you can be a winner and not condone sexist attitudes.

It is because he himself has said much, much worse about women so this is no big deal.

Shame on them! Why did they work so hard to win, only to act like losers?
Three cheers for the women’s team, who truly won the day!

Again, no one watches women’s hockey, even women. Check the ratings.

The viewership of Men’s hockey is going to nosedive because of this. We used to go to several caps games a season and had season tickets for several years. I’ll never go again unless players or the NHL get the courage to make a statement.

People that deprive themselves of something they like through performative nonsense are the saddest among us.

Sad is you getting that so backward.

I bet they don't play hockey, football, or lacrosse!

So it’s OK for a serial killer to mug someone? No big deal, he’s done much worse?

I would be just as critical of the women's gymnastics team if they laughed about the accomplishments of the men's team.

Also, what about the comment of "close the northern border"? You're being paid millions of dollars to play in a league that is played in another country and that's what you yell out during your medal celebration?

That one does not bother me as much. Yes not in spirit of the Olympics but Canadian players bashing on USA players and vice versa probably happens all the time. I am sure plenty of time is spent ribbing each other constantly and I could definitely see Canadian players wanting to close the southern border as a joke.

If that joke had come from the president of the United States.... Then it would have been in really poor taste.

Seriously? While ICE is killing people in Minnesota, you think this is not offensive and in incredibly poor taste?

Absolutely. Trump's misogyny is not news. How people react to his disrespectful jokes about women is the issue. You join right in? You join into the point of actually attending his political speech in support. There might be consequences for that.
