Is this sporty car my husband wants to buy pretty?

They are bought by people who 1) can afford them, 2) like their appearance, and 3) like their performance. Also, sometimes people buy them to gain entry to owner's clubs, for social reasons.

Those who criticize choices of this type made by others are not people whose opinions should matter to anyone.

+1. Get one while you both can get in and out of it without back issues.

These things are LOW.

Past owner of c6 z06 vette. Can’t beat the rumble of the old school v8. Crazy fast. Plenty comfortable inside - I’m 6-3. Dirt cheap to maintain vs euro cars such as Porsche, etc. My ONLY issue was the low clearance particularly within the front end when traversing driveways so scraped it a few tines. However, I believe the new one OP is considering has an optional “front end list” feature. Go for it and enjoy it while you can.

The current Corvette is a fantastic vehicle. All these criticisms are completely absurd. But I get them from the boring losers who inhabit the DC area.

I think it’s mostly that they just hate anything American.

The premise of the post is that H's decision should be driven by whether random people on the Internet are prepared to agree that it is "pretty", or not a "mid-life crisis" purchase. Why that premise is afforded an iota of validity is beyond me. The opinions expressed by random, uninformed, strangers are worth what OP is paying for them, and that is the value OP's H should give them.

He likes it, he wants it, he presumably can afford it, end of story. People who thesmelves drive who knows what, can only afford who knows what, and value who knows what, should not get a vote.

Guy across the street has a two Rav4s and an MP-5. His neighbor has two CRVs. How many of these do people need?

Way over the top, in a trashy (vs classy) way.

That car is exclusively for the wives/mistresses of tennis or golf pros, or gay men.

The fact that you would even put it in a comparison with a C8 proves you don’t know the first thing about cars.

Sit down.

I don't really care for Corvettes (I mean, they are cool in a retro way to me) so I have no dog in this fight, but that Benz is just embarrassing and it's weird that PP thinks it doesn't scream "Boomer." It absolutely screams Boomer BigLaw partner/Boomer rich grandma who wants to be seen as young and hip

Anything Benz screams "old" to me. Except a G wagon, which just reads LA trashy-rich.

“Midlife crisis” is such a petty, dismissive term, too.

So someone who has helped raise a family, put the kids through school and college, got them established in their lives and out on their own, paid off the house….and after 2-3 decades of taking care of everyone else, if they decide to treat themselves with a fun toy after all that work - we label it a “midlife crisis” and shame them for it.

That’s so mean and so petty. Some women are just awful creatures.
