I’m actually the OP and I’m not making it up. I got that from the live feed on the Minnesota star tribune page. They have reporters on the scene so that’s who I’m personally following to get updates.

“Department of Homeland Security officials said the man fatally shot by federal agents this morning in south Minneapolis was armed with a gun and two magazines.

The agency has not publicly identified the man or released details about what led up to the shooting, including how agents came into contact with him or what actions preceded the use of force.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said the man has died. A video shows agents were wrestling with man moments before the shooting.”

Here is a video out there, I don’t know how to link from threads, but the engagement starts with him simply filming. That’s it.

“A US government source directly briefed on the situation rapidly unfolding in Minneapolis has confirmed reports to the Guardian that the man shot by federal immigration officers this morning was armed.

The source, who cannot be named because they are not authorized to give out details at this time, provided an image of a handgun next to a loaded magazine, connected to the man the Department of Homeland Security is calling a suspect.

“Suspect had a firearm with two magazines,” the source said. “Situation evolving. Will get … more information ASAP.”

If the suspect shot at them or brandished a weapon DHS would have said it.

Even if he was armed and had two magazines, that doesn't make a difference. That's a pretty normal concealed carry setup. There would have to be evidence he actually drew on the officers.
