Meghan King Edmonds loses custody of kids to Jim Edmonds

I think the perspective that Meghan is just a sweet, innocent victim and that every single person the kids have ever encountered in the education system, the health care system, and the legal system has been bought off by a bad, bad man is far more fiction than fact. Sounds like someone is watching too many dramas on tv.

I would hazard a guess she has bipolar disorder and there has been a lot of speculation over the years about substance use issues. Her mother has bipolar disorder and Meghan has talked about her son having it. Also marrying a man six weeks after meeting when you have 3 young children at home and wanting to move to California with him but can’t because the children’s father won’t let you, then splitting up 2 months later is not the sign of a stable person.

She didn’t give up custody. She lost custody. The current deal is likely the best she would get at this time given her behavior.

She needs to go to rehab and become the mother these kids need. Then she can petition for more custody.

This site just hates men. See the thread on Scott Wolfe. So many posters blamed his wife’s mental illness and behavior on him.

This is reminding me of Britney Spears, and how it seems like she had PPD so KFed took the kids and it caused BritBrit to lose her mind. Her dad didn't care because it was easier to force her to work and earn him money if she wasn't busy momming. What will Megan do without a job or kids to take care of? She won't get child support since the kids won't be supported by her. Do we think she'll try to get back on Real Housewives even though she's not a housewife?

She talked about it a lot in 2024. She did say the doctors were calling it DMDD for now but it was clear she is sure he will be diagnosed as bipolar when older. DMDD is often a pre-bipolar disorder diagnosis so who knows. He also has cerebral palsy and according to Meghan ‘irreversible brain damage’. So it sounds like a pretty complex situation.

Wrong. It says they cut a deal right before court. Megan agreed to the deal. She did not lose custody. It sounds like she accepted the deal. I don’t know why.

Kids with severe behavioral issues like one of hers apparently has used to be able to be diagnosed with bipolar. Now it is more often ADHD or autism but it is possible that a more old school doctor used the bipolar label.

Nope. She had already lost custody. The judge was about to make it permanent. Her deal with Jim was better than she would have faired in court.

No they didn’t. Not for children under the age 13. We now know that diagnosis such a bipolar need to wait until the person is a late teen early 20s.

The whole thing is baffling. She's no one’s favorite tv villian but to only see her kids a few weeks every summer is nuts. My conspiracy theory is that Jim orchestrated the whole thing and moved to Tennessee to make it more difficult for her to see them. He doesn't want to have a fourth set of kids with his fourth wife so he's giving her his third wife’s kids.

I totally agree. When Meghan was his third wife, he did the same thing with her. He had his kids from a previous marriage that Meghan tried to step parent disastrously. She eventually wanted her own kids and here we are.
