They pretend all accidents are preventable because that's how they squeeze more money out of the government. If the admitted the obvious, that we can't prevent all accidents, then their funding would dry up. Of course, in no other context in life would anyone even suggest that it's possible to end collisions between people. |
We don't know. There are lots of blind and dangerous spots in this neighborhood. Its always been neglected. |
It wasn’t meant to refer to any specific crash. Just asking if one would consider that circumstance an accident since it wasn’t intentional. |
Your making up non-standard definitions accident: an unfortunate event resulting especially from carelessness or ignorance https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/accident |
Yes, that's an example of an accident caused by negligence. A textbook example, really. |
So, it’s negligence, not an accident. |
"Just asking questions"? meanwhile, you continue to imply that this person was texting while driving without any evidence. |
It's negligence if any of the parties involved were texting or looking at their phone in that moment. |
We don't know what happened. Let this child rest in peace, let the family grieve, and stop using him as your talking points. This was truly tragic. Either way, regardless of the how and why, a child passed away and instead of playing the blame game, find a way to support his family. |
Get a dictionary, as you struggle with the definitions of common words. Negligence is often a cause of accidents. |
+1 I have a loved one who was once involved in a fatal accident and the online speculation was pretty cruel and hurtful. People need to learn to stfu sometimes. |
Excuse me? There is only one person on here using this tragedy to further their talking points and play the blame game. It is not me. In this instance, there is no indication that anyone involved was behaving recklessly or negligent. |
Using language like this makes you sound like a fringe weirdo and does nothing to bring people over to your side. It’s unproductive. If you don’t care about winning people over with your arguments, why even bother arguing? |
After seeing this post, I decided to drive by the intersection while I was out today. As I was driving up the hill on University, I saw the bright white crosswalk at St. Paul, and then the huge speed camera in the median a little further up. Right as I passed the camera, a kid darted out of the bushes and ran across University right in front of my car. If I had been going the speed limit (I was only going 15 mph), I could have very easily hit him. We have to emphasize and emphasize again the message not to jaywalk. |
It’s very much you too. |
