| Keep in mind, this is not “the government” punishing Harvard, it’s one person. |
We have a unitary executive, sweetie. |
You mean dictator? Do you know what a representative democracy is, honey? |
You can keep telling yourself that and bury your head in sand. Poor thing. |
And here you are, not being able to come up with one. Poor thing. |

It is so scary how many people have been brainwashed to the MAGA party line. They just regurgitate what they are being told without thinking about it. No critical thinking skills. They write one sentence and it is obvious who they are.
And I'm guessing most of them were not anything like this 10-15 years ago. They have fully bought into this. Unable to question Trump and what he is doing to this country. Thinking all of these issues he is making a big deal of are truly big problems. Non-stop nastiness towards Democrats. Then if they are questioned non-stop fake whataboutisms. Trust me - most Democrats are not very happy with the state of our party. And we question lots of aspects of it. Unlike MAGA, we don't just fall in line. Though we are somewhat forced to because the alternative has become so disgusting and contrary to the beliefs this country (actually, this world) was founded on. And now I will get low class, ignorant responses rather than thoughtful opposition. We used to be able to have intelligent disagreement and discussions. I could still do that with an old fashioned Republican if they actually existed. I actually voted for some of them. But they have been silenced, often very rudely. For example, McCain. You're OK with how Trump spoke about him? Of course I will not get an answer. Just insults. |
Not when it receives $686 million in federal funding a year ( that’s the amount it received in 2024). That’s almost 10% of its operating budget. Why can private donors place conditions on how their money is to be used but the government can’t ? |
What do research dollars have to do with undergrad admissions policies? And why do you care so much about this? Not sure why everyone is suddenly so obsessed about this. Other than that they are brainless sheep doing what they are told. |
| He who pays the piper calls the tune. |
Because the conditions it’s placing are arbitrary and capricious. Are the same conditions being applied to southern universities where racism is much more prevalent? |
Awarded to specific grants for specific research. You cannot just start and stop research projects on a whim while you have a temper tantrum about "woke". I mean it can be done and this moron president is doing it, but it's destroying something that takes a long time to build and is valuable. Destruction is easy and weak and building something of substance is difficult and valuable. |
No sane, moral person would support this abuse of power. |
You are a bully and don’t even realize it. Or maybe you do and enjoy it. I’m going with the latter. |
And that “one person “ was elected as president and controls releasing government funds, which is his responsibility. Harvard is welcome to keep defending antisemitism, discrimination against Asians and look down at the average American. But they don’t get our taxes in return. The U.S. has many research institutes that are far more deserving of the federal government money. |
Aha. Doubling down on the PeeWee mentality. Your intellectual peer. So you are 100% ok with Trump’s presidency? Everything he has done is perfect. Or you just enjoy that he is sticking it to the libs. I dare you to say one slightly negative thing about Trump. Like that he is fat. Or you don’t like his hair. Something. Please. You and your ugly red hat won’t burst into flames. I promise. |
