Antisemitism is a real problem. You can disguise it change it but many posting here are antisemetic. Columbia has a problem. People should not feel threatened to go to class ever.

Has this happened to kids you know or were you only told it happened? I was at Columbia during the protests last spring. they were peaceful. however, there were anti-protest agitators (ie pro zionist) outside the gates (non students) that were intimidating. My sister lives in LA and reported the same think about UCLA.

I would love your explanation of what "peaceful" and "intimidating" means.
For example, is covering the face with a mask a-la Hamas a mark of a peaceful protester?

I have no problem with masks (the students were justifiably nervous about doxing after what happened to the Harvard students). But for the most part I did not see masked students.

Getting into my face and yelling I do have a problem with.

The yelling in my face is what I saw anti-protesters to protesters last spring. I know this happened to Jewish students too in a few reported cases, but it is unclear that there were more cases of Jewish students being harassed than the protesters being harassed.

Therefore the punishment of one group seems biased.

If they are proud of supporting Hamas, why wear masks? Also, is it doxxing to report truthful information that someone was participating in a protest in public?

Doxxing is not just report truthful info. It is reporting information designed to harm someone. Why is it okay for Harvard students to have employment positions pulled for simply signing a letter supporting Palestinians?

About time these universities are held accountable for allowing Jewish students to be repeatedly harassed, prevented from attending class or using university resources, and being subjected to such hateful abuse.

Those of you who believe these protests were "mostly peaceful" - I suspect if these protests had been directed at black students, your opinion would be bery different.

Did you see any protests yourself?

Netanyahu should not have this much control over our country. He is not even popular in his own

No, it isn't. They are infringing on the rights and freedoms of the Jewish students.

Proof please! The protests I saw were peaceful.

It’s a bad precedent. Letting a president decide which universities to fund based on ideology could end up going a completely different way under a different administration. This is not what funding decisions should be based on.

Maybe put in a little effort. Students across the country have been intimidated, mezuzahs torn off their doors, being harassed. And risking their own education if they speak out against even their ignorant professors.
So wake up--this isn't just about protesting--it's about hatred targeted towards a specific group of people. It isn't even about israel it's about hate.

PP: one more thing. I detest Trump and all he is doing. So I'm not even speaking to removing of funding--I'm reacting to the conversations like here on DCUM where people just don't even try to find out more before commenting.

This is not ignorance, but rather deliberate, blatant disinformation. The same person posts nonsense, then replies to self pretending to agree.

1) I have never replied to self
2) I am not a Russian troll
3) actually I am Jewish (well yes I would have been killed in the 1930s40/ if I lived in Europe but my Dad is s Jewish so I have also been told by multiple Jewish people that I am not Jewish bc my mother was not so honestly I’m kind of confused.
4) I was at Columbia multiple times last spring and I was harassment by a counter protest group who yelled in my face while i saw student protester peacefully singing
5) I 10000% agree never again. But I see Palestinian as people and I also see Zionists (and I don’t mean the label to be antisemitic bc again - I myself am Jewish - well by some standards) inflicted suffering on them.
6) okay now you want to say “but they deserve it” but please. Take a moment. Why do you hate them and not all of the Europeans and Americans that abandoned you during WWIi??? Do you not see a disconnect?
7) I have no issues learning from any first hand accounts you want to share. But have not faith in second hand reports.

For not loving Israel?

Why not kick out the ones who don’t want to follow the US constitution which guarantees free speech and assembly. This is not Afghanistan and The Jewish Taliban should not run the US. They should move to Tel Aviv. We should be America first

Sounds good to me. No way should students be able to take over buildings, keep threatening Jewish students on a campus in NYC????? And these students who take over the building and block access get no punishment from the University….

What percent of Columbia students threatened Jewish students? Weren’t there a handful of instances and some weren’t students?

Trump needs to get t work on presidential duties. Soon enough the economy is going to collapse and all he talks about is transgender people and protests that he doesn’t like. Jan 6 was fine, protesting Israel killing 30,000 women and children, not fine.

Hopefully the Jewish students and teachers will question why the entire world hates Israel and Jews

Answer is bigotry, ignorance, and hate. That simple.

The 400m is better spent on Israel anyway so they can finally win the war and defeat Hamas by giving them a bank deposit of 40m

In tons of the cases AIPAC funded militants instigated it and then withdrew into crowds, inviting retaliation on the wrong people. What’s happening on the campuses is two sided.
