Sounds good to me. No way should students be able to take over buildings, keep threatening Jewish students on a campus in NYC????? And these students who take over the building and block access get no punishment from the University….

Ah, retribrutive authoritarianism. That's nice.

Seriously - these cuts to grants to the school are not related to grants for programs that may have been deemed anti-semitic. Instead they are expressly designed to punish the school for the protests that happened earlier. Trump can cancel anything at any time for anything anyone has done any time in the past. No one sees a problem with this?

This. Even if you condemn the actions of Columbia for handling of the protests, you shouldn’t support this.

His US attorney is going after Georgetown Law apparently because of one professor in 2016.

His retribution campaign is insane. Don’t support any of it just because you agree on one point. Or you’re supporting tyranny.

Isn't this considered Wokeism and cancel culture? Or is that only when they can use it against Dems?

Conversely, have to wonder if the left would be screaming if the Fed gov't withheld funding from colleges that allowed blatant racism on campus?

My guess is no. Plenty of hypocrisy to go around here.

Bless your heart. How about UVA?

As someone who married into the tribe, I can honestly say I don’t not care one bit if Israel seeks to exist tomorrow because I’m sick of them meddling in my country. And they only have themselves to blame.

Assume that this marriage is past tense.

Present. And my actively Jewish spouse is sick of their crap, too. We live in America and not Israel for a reason.

And she, like you, “doesn’t care if Israel [ceases] to exist”?

Strange sort of “actively Jewish” spouse you have.

It for research, it’s not a gift.

I’m “pro israel” but anti Netanyahu and I despise Trump. Those are not mutually exclusive positions.

What does pro israel even mean? I believe Israel has a right to exist and can’t believe we’re debating that almost 80 years into its existence. Nobody says they’re “pro America” because nobody is debating Americas right to exist even though Americans ties to our country are far more colonized and nefarious than Jewish historical ties to Israel. And nobody says they’re “anti American” and wouldn’t care if ceased to exist tomorrow just because they hate trump and his policies.

The protests have been mostly peaceful.

Doesn’t seem very peaceful when you need riot police to clear out the protesters. Blocking access to building, people from class.

That’s not peaceful, that’s obstruction.

The article didn't say anything about any protestors blocking anything.

The article says:
"The NYPD prepared for any potential disruptions, but everything remained calm."

So, are you complaining that the police blocked access to building, people from class?

Boo. I believe in the general MAGA ethos, but I don’t get the hard on for israel. I thought it was America first... why do we have to pay for them to occupy their territory?

He also bears an incredible grudge against NYC elites. Expect the federal attack on NYC institutions to continue apace as trump attempts to vent his spleen.

Who is more NYC elite than the man with many NYC buildings with his own name on them?!?

Leftist Democrats usually use the courts to investigate and resolve disputed claims, to balance competing interests of free-speech and eual-protection, not use the executive to revoke and reinstate funding on day-to-day whims without rhyme or reason.

Given what they are doing there now ie Israel commiting genocide against Palestinians, don't think they care much about doing stuff that Nazis used to do or supporting em

I thought Trump was anti woke and anti DEI. This sinks of woke DEI.
