Everyone who says BC is not as academically strong as USC and that Wake students come from better families requires psychoactive medication, according to your post.

Top 5% students at good high schools are not off the rails if they ED to Penn or Duke. A below median student at a good high school with low social aspirations should consider BC for ED.

This is so damning. BC can barely beat the University of Florida or Irvine. California students rejected by Berkeley, UCLA, and San Diego dread going to Irvine.

BC is a better school, clearly, than any of the above schools — even 20 years ago. It was underrated by US News then, and it is underrated now. BC is now the clear #3 in that area, behind only MIT and Harvard. Then Tufts, then Northeastern, then BU.

What do you mean underrated then? Boston College will go up in the rankings based on DEI and having poor Massachusetts youth attending from Dracut. If anything, it is overrated now. Tufts was and is the better school academically, that is the consensus among New Englanders.

The only kids I know who ended up at BC are extremely smart. One was basically top of his class at prestigious school.
