According to Niche, it’s 419. Now, there are 10,500 districts in the USA, so I guess it’s good to be in the top 5%, but I still want to know about the 418 districts that are better.

The reality is MCPS is likely much worse than 419. They are living on their prior reputation. I pulled my kids from MCPS once the COVID and equity bunch took control.

MOCO better wake up. MCPS used to be a driving force for people to move to MOCO, but now it is seen as a detriment. Couple that with the high tax rates (property & business), MOCO will suffer.

Actually it likely isn't worse than where it's listed. Whether some of you believe it or not, MCPS is still a good school district, especially in comparison to many others. It still offers a lot and folks are still moving into the district from others. Some of you really live in a bubble. There was an entire thread on here with folks talking about moving from other school districts and most said they liked MCPS.

Nice dodge ..but but all schools are gang overrun stress factories who inflate student scores and deflate the teachers support to run classes properly. Not a good excuse

You forgot to take your meds

Why did you take a double dose?

The stress of working in education leads alot of people to antidepressants, high blood pressure, and depression. These are common side effects. Thank and administrator for the lack of support today!

Do you see dead people, too?

Nope. Just a burned out teacher fed up with systematic mismanagement and practices that lead to poor results and health issues.

When I started teaching in MCPS in 2000 a retiring teacher told me this. So it has been doing downhill for 25+ years. It's been quite a trip --basically since getting rid of tracking and instilling the no child left behind crap. I put my child in Catholic school from day 1, and we are not all religious.

No more dodging fights in the hallway.
No more dodging crazy parents in the student parking lot.
No more weekly fluff updates from an out-of-touch, weak principal.
No more trips back at home at lunch to use the bathroom because the school bathrooms are full of obnoxious weed smokers.
No more equity being shoved down our throats.
No more tutoring to learn the basics.
No more unruly scary kids to avoid in the classrooms.
And so much more!
If we had the money, we would have moved years ago but like many of us...we are trapped in east County hell.
Yes - I am looking forward to the door hitting us on the back as we walk out forever on graduation day!
After yet another scary incident that happened today and was ignored, I just have to remember that it will be over soon.

Why not just home school starting tomorrow morning?

So sad that you've tricked yourself into believing that

Go fire a teacher for trying to get classroom management under control. Isn't that what you people do?
Anonymous
Also, coverups and violence are nothing new in this district. It's because they promote people who don't follow the rules and the fire people who do follow the rules.
