If you are a Trump supporter, are you OK with your spouse voting Harris? (I put men in the title because more men support Trump but obviously there is the reverse.

Never would have married a woman dumb enough to vote for her.

Did you sit with her to fill out ballots? Did you early vote together?Yes

The children voted straight R as well.

Children don't vote.

As a woman in a mixed marriage - I'm the Republican, DH is the Democrat, that ad absolutely appals me. It is unbelievably patronizing and condescending to women.

Yes it’s definitely upsetting that some women in America have to hide their votes from their MAGA husbands. The RWNJ echo chamber really fell into the trap on this. Their reaction to the ad really told on them.

I realize that most of the posters on DCUM live in a bubble, but this attitude is shocking.
You really don't understand that there are Republican women - like close to 50% of women? Women who are really, truly Republican, and are not just being brain-washed into their beliefs by their knuckle-dragging, MAGA husbands?

That ad is not for them.

Hard pass from this Republican woman. The problem is the people making these ads don't know any Republican women or how we think.

The ad isn’t for republican women. It’s for women who feel pressured by their husbands to vote for Trump. These women aren’t republicans. If you’re truly confused about who this ad is intended for, go read The Well Trained Wife by Tia Levings. She discusses this phenomenon in the context of the 2000 election.

This is stupid. Should there be an ad telling men not to be p***y whipped by their wives into who to vote for?

DP: It isn't stupid. Have you done canvassing? Have you had women say to your face, "I have to ask my husband" when asked who they plan to vote for? I have. In Virginia. I used to be shocked by this. None of my female friends are in this category, but I got out of my bubble and now I've met women who are in this really troubling situation. Now I realize that it's scary, but it's not uncommon and it is not just in R households. The ad is actually necessary. It's not aimed at you or me.

And I think you are smart enough to know that.

No, it would show he didn’t value my health and safety or that of our daughter.

Luckily I chose a man of character.

Not sure why the eye roll. The plight of that Texas woman is every woman in 2 years if the GOP wins this election.

DP. Wrong. Keep up the fear mongering. It’s really working for you.

Are you one of those people who said Roe was settled law and everyone freaked out about women’s rights under a Trump SCOTUS was hysterical?

That’s not the point of this ad. Stop personalizing it. Just because you have a marriage where you can exercise your vote freely doesn’t mean that’s the case across the board - as the right wing male reaction clearly demonstrates.

+1

Women’s healthcare is a serious issue for anyone who cares about women.

I would make him explain it to our daughters. But he actually cares about them and women’s rights so it would never happen.

I guess as a woman I don't give a s**t about myself or my own two daughters.

Self-hate is REAL.

Nope. So my Republican husband is voting for Harris.

That is what he tells you.

I’m not worried, unlike the MAGABROS crying online about it! 😂

Including their leader

We all know who Melania is voting for.

Does Melania even have her citizenship? Is she a US citizen? Otherwise, she can’t vote

I’m a Democrat. My wife is a Republican. She’s voted straight Dem since 2008. I’m fine with this.

Trump thinks women are not human beings.

This is a tired, dumb joke that appeals to low IQ voters. Just like Trump.

Since I'm voting for Harris, I think it's fine my wife votes for Harris or whoever she wants.
Anonymous
No I don't want my wife voting for someone who claims to be an advocate for women's rights and then is complicit in killing hundreds of thousands of women and children elsewhere
