Sure! Liberal family of color here who practice a minority religion.
we love Holton. It has incredibly rigorous academics and never neglects pushing girls to discover their best selves. They have an equally rigorous DEI curriculum that is woven into each and every class. Even the website highlights the DEI work. The school is the most racially and ethnically diverse we found in our search that also has high academic standards. Our daughter has friends of all races.
We are in upper school and have attended numerous parent events on campus and in people’s homes and I am always struck by how they never feel homogenous. Everyone shows up. I’ve definitely been inside some ultra-fancy houses, but I have ALWAYS felt welcomed.
It also feels like a bit of a tribe. I have had other parents that I don’t even know well that have jumped jn and offered to help me out multiple times (with driving, coordinating after school activities, etc)
This school is not for show. It’s all depth.
This thread is nutty and does not reflect the reality of this lovely warm place.
If yore interested in Holton, visit or ask admissions for names of whatever group you are interested in - black families, Muslim families, East Asian families - they will find someone who will be happy to talk frankly with you.
