If they come with some gross imperfection I'll sell them. I have since talked to a friend who did this and the imperfection was indiscernible. The best part of buying this option is that they were in stock vs. the regular pairs (@ $500) which are currently out of stock.

I think she'll have them for a long time. They're the chestnut color (not banana which is more trendy and that she likes but recognizes will likely go out of style).

Be prepared for her to be upset that you didn’t get the color she wanted. I would be upset if I asked for a specific pair and my mother came back with a totally different color than I wante just to save some money.

For goodness sake, OP got her the color that she wanted. Her daughter *thought* about banana but ultimately decided the chestnut would be more of a keeper.

Well done, OP!

I didn’t see that. I read that her daughter wanted banana.

BUY THE BOOTS! It's her birthday present too since she returned those. She is now an adult and can learn to take care of nice things. Frye boots will last and she will love it1 Go get the boots!

Did she want chestnut or banana? Did she know you got them in chestnut or is this a surprise?

Anonymous wrote:Yes, I absolutely would buy them as a joint present from you and her grandparents. That seems like a no-brainer to me. I'd probably add a few small stocking stuffer type things and be overjoyed to be basically one and done. lol

+1 with a similarly doesn't-ask-for-much kid.

I would buy them. I wish I had bought more stuff like that when I was in my late teens/early twenties. I remember this suede skirt that I loved that was $150 and I never bought it.

Now, I’m 41. I have the money, but I don’t care about that stuff anymore. I wish there was something out there that would make me as happy as a $150 skirt (or $500 pair of boots) would have at 18.
