Secret Service Closing Playground Next to Vance's Del Ray Home

Refusing to support and welcome a person who has been actively hostile to many Americans (women, immigrants, etc.) is in no way the same as the active hostility displayed by that person. JD Vance might be a father and husband, but he is also a conservative Republican who is intolerant of many, many people. Not welcoming him into an inclusive community only counts as "intolerance" if you're already a bigot. As for his wife and kids, she married him and as a woman of color supports him. She shouldn't be welcome either. It's certainly too bad if their kids feel unwelcome in the neighborhood, but given that the policies JD Vance wants to enact separate other children from their families, some rich kids feeling a little sad doesn't really compare.

Consequences have actions. Being a proud bigot will absolutely result in people not wanting to hang out with you. Be less of a bigot, or move where the other bigots live. Problem solved.

You are a sad, brainwashed loser.

And you're either a bigot or someone pathetic enough to defend one. I bet neither one of us actually cares what the other one thinks, but I care pretty deeply about continuing to say that "you're the intolerant one for not accepting my bigotry" is a fallacy. It's not. Your bigotry SHOULD get you shunned in your neighborhoods. You SHOULD feel ashamed of believing repugnant things. I know you don't, because you think you're brilliant and righteous, but you don't get to say "It's bigoted not to let me be a bigot" and have any credibility for anything at all.

Certainly you shouldn't be in charge of anything or parenting anyone, but I'm sure you are, since your kind tends to fail up. My deep hope is that the tide is turning so that disgusting creeps like JD Vance and his rapist boss crawl back under their rocks. At the very least, you don't get to pretend to be righteous unchecked.

Have a great weekend, creep!

No one’s messing with them, except in their own wounded minds.

DP- 3 small kids live there and Del Ray lots are tiny. That wack job made a point to post up in front of his home to sew yarn messages onto a telephone pole with the sole aim being to make his family feel unwelcome.

Defending that kind of behavior gives us all insight into the health of your own mind. Yet another example of Dem’s not respecting the innocence of children. Guess it tracks.

Yes, it must have been terrifying to have "Respect Our Rights" crocheted in pink and white onto a tree, and pink and blue striped squares and rainbow hearts crocheted onto a telephone pole, in front of his house. An unspeakable violation of children's innocence.

We will when Vance learns how to order donuts.

I just clicked on the Washingtonian link with the pictures of the so called “yarn bmomhing”. That looks so pretty! Why would anyone be upset by this. I can’t believe people on here are acting like someone threatened his kids. Someone made a pretty sweater for a telephone poll near his house. Quirky, yes. Threatening? No. His kids probably liked the rainbow crochet hearts. Most would.

Did a "well regulated militia" vandalize his home and attempt to drive his wife and kids out of town?

Why are his wife and kids living here anyway? Isn't he a Senator from Ohio?

Yeah, it’s kind of funny that they’re living a cushy Blue life while Vance is denigrating the values that help his family live comfortably.

Not all families relocate. Why aren’t his biracial kids growing up surrounded by the values and priorities that Vance claims to uphold?

You just don’t like him. If he left his family in Ohio, you’d criticize that. I don’t like him either, but you’re ridiculous.

It is true that I don’t like him. If his family lived in a conservative neighborhood in Ohio, I would still dislike him, but would applaud his ability to practice what he preaches, and appreciate his ongoing connections with his constituents. If he lived in a very conservative neighborhood in Virginia, I would still dislike him, but would leave any further criticisms up to the people he represents.

Again, you are ridiculous. Why is it necessary for anyone to live surrounded by neighbors who agree on everything?

It isn’t necessary. I didn’t say that it was. Making up drivel and attributing it to me is — uhm — an interesting way to argue with yourself. Pity that you can’t manage a simple conversation. Peace out.

It is kind of weird to close a very popular park over a bit of yarn on a phone pole. This area has had prominent politicians of every stripe for a long time. This is a bit extreme. Rather than shutting down a neighborhood it would make more sense for the family to move into a gated community in DC.

That’s because it has nothing to do with the yarn, which happened over a year ago. OP is full of sh*t and the right wingers are always butthurt by little things like this. It’s just because his house is right on the street, and the secret service is under pressure for obvious reasons.

There's more of that great Del Ray hospitality!

Everyone is welcome here!!!*

It's hospitable to close down a public park next to your house?

"We love families and kids!!!" Well no, we don't, no public park for you.

You think Vance closed the park? LOL. It was the pink haired lesbians that closed the park.

Ah, yes. The old “liberals are hypocrites pretending to be tolerant when they aren’t!!” And then you say something like this.

I've got $100 for anyone that gives me the name of the women that did the yarn bombing.

So armed MAGAs can show up at her door?

Creepy!

Yeah the person desperate to get her name is a grade A stalker and psychopath. But what is MAGA, really, without wanting to threaten, intimidate, and bully people you viscerally hate for no reason.

“Another example of Dem’s not respecting the innocence of children” oooh boy, turn off the Fox rage machine for once and go outside and touch grass.

I’m not in that part of Alexandria much anymore because we aren’t going to storytime at Duncan. How long has he lived on the street?

Apparently, longer than his neighbors like.

He bought the house around March 2023.

You would be ok with him living in a conservative neighborhood in Ohio or Virginia because he’s a conservative. You criticize him for living in a less than conservative neighborhood. Somehow people are required to live in neighborhoods that align with their political views?

Thank goodness you are in charge of anything.
