She probably has lost weight because she's been grieving. Her speech was so well-done, even conservatives had to admit that. I hope the positive reaction to her speech lifts her up during what has been a hard time for her.

Instead of talking about what she said you are talking about how she looks. I know very predictable for 'beauty and fashion' but, let's try to do better.

YES THIS IS THE BEAUTY AND FASHION THREAD. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL AND FASHIONABLE. DON'T BE STUPID.

Only stupid people yell to get their point across. It is in recent topics so if you can't handle my on point comment go paint your nails or get a facial, love.

You're absolutely right, I'm the stupid one, not you. It says right there in Recent Topics that this post was posted in Beauty and Fashion. Also, the title is "Michelle Obama looks AMAZING", not "Michelle Obama gave an amazing speech". It's not my fault you're too dumb to figure that out. Why don't you go finish reading the Wall Street Journal, sweetheart.

Their roles are completely different.

I think Michelle looks so free and happy since leaving the WH

+1. That said, Kamala's role does not require dowdy outfits. It's 2024, people.

michelle didnt dress like that in 2008

who are the female politician's you see dressing well/2024?

if she was wearing michelles outfit she would be called unpresidential, hills pants suits at 65+ and obamas summer suit in 90 degree weather were also a problem

Most likely

really? she is the same size if not bigger? no? maybe but that doesnt seem obvious at all.

everyone in dc always assumes ozempic. i think obesity it a much bigger issue here than nyc. and people are not in great shape event tho they barely work

seems more like botox, fillers, facials, a trainer, and all the best treatments and cyrotherapies and fancy supplements we havent heard of

She's gorgeous, always.

I love that woman.

As others noted, she is going to be much more constrained as to what she can wear. What people will allow her to wear without crucifying her.

+1

Wow!

well that photo just posted shows her much bigger so maybe she is on it.

to followup further. i think she had excellent semi sig surgery that makes her eyes appear less close together.

plus the things i listed above. she is 6 ft tall and works out so ozempic or diet would work quickly

the fox panel could not stop gushing. they actually liked all the speeches, esp her and doug, as a first take. they were speechless. i think they know they dont have enough on the ground. reps should have not let go of the rnc, i wonder if there would have been a better pivot if romney was in and lara out.

The primary impression Michelle projects is strength. When she embraces it with strong architectural lines, tailored uniform-like clothing and angularity, she looks amazing. The little twinsets and dirndl skirts she donned when she was first lady were so wrong for her. She should always dress how she dressed today. No ruffles, no florals, nothing soft or willowy. The woman is an amazon, she should live it through her clothes without fear.

Tell it!

You might not remember the enormous amount of criticism that Michelle Obama got for pretty much everything she wore or did — including a New Yorker cover sketch that depicted her (with the President) wearing camouflage, draped in bullets, toting a rifle. To add to the subtlety of the image, she was styled with an Afro. A sleeveless dress — like Jackie Kennedy wore — was mercilessly criticized. So she — and, Barack — dressed to be less “scary”. She straightened her hair and wore soft clothing, and Barack wore dad-jeans. Just some of the many sacrifices that they made for our country.

So true. She had to be J cRew all the time. Now she looks much freer and happier.

She finally dresses much better now that she’s allowed to be herself. The straightened bobs, cardigans and A line dresses didn’t look like her

I think the choice of all black is because she’s still mourning her mom

She lost her mom. That can make one lose weight. I think wearing black is just slimming. We usually see her in bright colors

From what she says in her book, it was more so her hate for the spotlight that penetrated back then. She was uncomfortable with the camera, being away from her girls, and the whole spotlight of politics and being a single mom with a dad running for Pres as the first high profile black man so she tended to scowl alot. It’s alot to deal with. Colin Powells wife didn’t allow Colin to run.

She was hurt when the media took that to mean she was a angry or radical BW and made effort to introduce herself and who she is/her family during the 2008 DNC
