You might not remember the enormous amount of criticism that Michelle Obama got for pretty much everything she wore or did — including a New Yorker cover sketch that depicted her (with the President) wearing camouflage, draped in bullets,  toting a rifle. To add to the subtlety of the image, she was styled with an Afro. A sleeveless dress — like Jackie Kennedy wore — was mercilessly criticized.  So she — and, Barack — dressed to be less “scary”.  She straightened her hair and wore soft clothing, and Barack wore dad-jeans.  Just some of the many sacrifices that they made for our country.  [/quote]
