The poster using words like bozo, scumbag, and dodo needs to stop. If you can't have a discussion, and this is too stressful for you, then I suggest you find something else to do.

I read that she was reaching out for help in a moms group and no one helped her. Red flags were there. Now she’s dead and everyone wants to help. This is really sad.

Where did you read this? It seems to me her community has been instrumental in bringing attention to this and confirming the husband is brought to justice.

It’s on the FB pages posted on this thread. But what PP said isn’t totally accurate. She was asking for advice about divorce, concerned bc husband told her he’d keep the kid from her if she left/ and also he threats not to help with the baby if she left to go to work. She was getting advice on those groups. What more can a stranger behind a screen do??

I do worry a bit about the baby going back to her family if it is true they knew she was experiencing dv in her arranged marriage. Would compound the tragedy for the baby to have a similar fate.

Perhaps you ought to take your own advice instead of defending a murderer. Anyone saying "how could he possibly have done it?" is either an absolute moron, or a scumbag trying to defend an awful murderer.

Mamta's brother in Nepal contacted Nadia to ask for the GoFundMe money to hire a private investigator, because he didn't trust that Nadia was doing a good job (he posted this publicly on her page).

The fact remains that a lot of family or origins may still have some antiquates ways of approaching things (marriage, domestic violence, raising daughters, etc). I hope that Nadia gets custody and has a lot of support, but still remains connected to Mamta's family and Nepali family. Just... not in their custody.

Why are all of you internet strangers thinking Nadia should have the baby just because she created a random page? Do you know that mamta had friends who were way closer than Nadia and are not publicly writing on random pages? She also has a family that she loved and would probably want her kid with them first before shes given to someone a bunch of strangers think should get a kid to calm their western sensibilities. My God, the kid is a human being with a family and the decision about her upbringing is not something that internet randoms should decide

Nadia's not a random person. She lived with Mamta as a roommate, was part of her baby shower, and was a longtime good friend. Sometimes (often times) an orphan child is better off not with extended biological family.

I don’t see Nadia getting custody.
